If you want a simple menu, great and efficient service and want to try good quality socca of different flavours, you must visit Chez Pipo. It's in the Port area of Nice, easy to find with tables inside and outside. The staff are excellent, speak English and are genuinely helpful. We had lunch here of 2 tartinades (small dishes of... This small restaurant at the Port always seems to be full and busy all day, every day, and now I can understand why. The menu is short and simple and so tasty. Socca, Pissaladiére and deserts. All accompanied by very acceptable vin de maison. Excellent staff and service. Very clean facilities and welcoming atmosphere. Lots of families, couples and groups... More

We were told that this place provides an authentic Nice food experience. The menu is not quite diversified, nor familiar. It is recommended to try the socha, the pissaladiere and the tourte de Blettes. The pizza a tomate fraiche is average in my opinion. I have to warn you though that the place will be crowded, and that is only... More

A wonderful place to experience one of Nice's signature snacks, "Socca" which is essentially chickpea batter fried on a giant pan, seasoned with salt and pepper. Also a bunch of other Nicoise treats here, but Socca and alcoholic drinks like wine and beer are the stars of the show here.

If you enjoy socca head to Chez Pipo*. Arrive early or make reservations - even for a midweek lunch. We ordered 3 different socca variations: aubergine, garlic & parmesan, one with peppers and the traditional or 'simple'. All were delicious - especially when washed down with wine which is 3.50 euros/glass. Service is somewhat unorganized, but the wait staff were... More

My girlfriend and I stopped here to have a snack, light lunch, after we cycled around the city. The food was good. We tried the socca, which is meant to be their speciality, and it was the best we tried during our stay in Nice. Other dishes we tried were also good, I recommend the pain bagnat. Highly recommended if... More

Ordered snacks and drinks for four. Reminded surly waiter of missing items three times. Was assured they were being prepared. They were not.

We went to eat dinner, what we get was more like lunch time food. The place was ok and the service and athmosphire was good....food (socca) is too simple for a dinner.

If you want to have a taste of one of the best local Socca in Nice then stop at Chez Pipo. The place is a bit small but it has that familiar environment that makes you feel kind of part of the community, the food is also amazing I was looking the chefs while preparing the Socca and you can...
