This hut in the woods is delightfully utterly devoid of any pretension whatsoever. Which makes it genuine, atmospheric, cramped and fun. You walk there through the woods, pig out on the great food and the good news is that the path back to the village is downhill. Giving time to wonder how you really could have eaten that much cheese... More

More

This is a very cozy and simple little restaurant in the middle of the woods, very nice scenery. You can stop there for lunch when coming down the slopes, just watch out for a small sign which leads you in the woods. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual, they serve local food like fondues and omelets. Food is good and... More

Good, traditional, fairytaleish in the woods laying near a glacier in the city of Argentiere near Chamonix. This restaurant serves local fondues and bread with cheese, fromage from the local valley. Its advisable to book ahead og come around 7 o clock and hope for a table. Its a house as a house in the Hans and Greta tale. Really... More

The service was warm and friendly, food yummy, wines simple but good. A refuge-like place walking distance from our hotel.

This really cosy place is in the woods by the Pierre a roc ski slope. We walked up from Argentiere (bring flash light). Just loved the simplicity, no fancy stuff, no fancy people, just great cooking and atmosphere.

We went there, after a recommendation from our daughters' ski instructor; he just said that he knew that very nice place where we could have a quick lunch, cheap, and really good value for the money... We skied all morning and finally landed there, with a very warm welcome: the (small) place was mostly filled with skiers but also some... More

The restaurant serves local specialties. The food is good (not excellent) and reasonably priced. The location is extraordinary and a walk through the forest in the snow at night makes it just adventurous enough that we could take our little 5 year old.

very nice place, but the waitress was not in a good mood on the day we went there. You can either walk there following the ski slope, or if you have a car with winter tires, just drive up the little path.
