I've had few excellent meals here. The wines are good. The wait staff speak good English and there is an English version of the menu if required. Plenty of options for gluten free people, even some of the desserts were gluten free! I recommend the chestnut cake.

We went there based on TripAdvisor recommendation. Booked the place for 2. We went early around 19.00 and there were pnly few people there. Place is quite authentic. Table space is a bit small. By 20.00 the place was quite full. Plenty of food selection. We chose to order escargot and steak and lamb. Food quality is average. Escargot and... More

The proprietor was kind enough to fit us in for dinner at short notice and we could not have been more happy. The staff were friendly and most helpful and made us feel at ease with our 11 year old son. The menu was extensive with an emphasis on meat dishes. We all chose different entrees and main dishes and... More

Great restaurant that offers a dinner menu (entree, main dish & dessert) for 22€. Plenty of choice to choose. I took the tuna carpaccio, the duck and profiterolle as desert. Top food. You wont leave with hunger!

The venue is cosy and the food is ok. Compared to other restaurants (at similar price) in Grenoble, "L'Ardoise" has many young costumers. The two bad sides of this restaurant are that it is extremely packed and when I came on Friday evening I really felt the pressure from the staff to eat fast and leave. Isn't it better to... More

I liked how the main entree prices varied from about 13-23€ but I had a hard time choosing something I was comfortable with as an American. They offered horse meat, bone marrow, duck, and lamb to name a few. I decided to try lamb with their gratin dauphinois and they were both great. I would suggest looking at the menu... More

Went to this restaurant as I saw in TripAdvisor it was good, and didn't disappoint me. It looks like an old pub inside. Some waitresses spoke English, which was a good help. I had lamb with vegetables (delicious!) and the cake of the day. I spent around 24€.

We have been there in a cold weather: the place is fully crowded. the waitress is very kind to find a table for us; and we ordered steak and dauphiné ravoli. The food are average but hot enough to keep us warm in the cold weather. Too many tourists make it very noisy; though

Visited here in the evening for dinner with six colleagues. Very lively restaraunt full of couples and groups. Excellent menu with fixed price for starter, main and dessert with additional items from the boards. Staff were friendly and helpful and had menu's in English for non native speakers. The wine list was also good and we finished off with a... More
