We had the best time at this wine bar! There is no menu. Instead the owner gets to know you, and brings out wine. The wine he suggested was perfect, and the personalized attention is incredible. The cheese and meat platters were excellent. We stayed much later than planned chatting with Kristoff, and he even managed to get us reservations... More

Quaint little wine bar with lots of charm. If you're looking for fantastic wines, a delicious cheese and meat spread, and an intimate and personal atmosphere this is the place to be. Christoph is a great host and is able to share his knowledge of wine as well as prepare an amazing spread. Small. Personal. Fabulous.

We went to La Bouteillerie based on recommendations from Tripadvisor, as we were not disappointed. This is a very small wine shop (about 4 tables for food and tasting) that offers tastings and excellent "finger food". But the biggest pleasure is the owner/host, Christophe. He welcomed and treated us as his guests. His wine knowledge (and selection of wines in... More

However much you know about wine, this is a great place to find out more. The host knows his stuff and is also immensely friendly, so the service is excellent. The food platter is top class and a perfect accompaniment to the wine on offer. Don't worry if you're wine knowledge is limited - Christophe will keep you right!

Hmmm so the 4 of us decided to spend our happy hour and to sample more wines with the restaurant owner in this place after seeing all the nice and positive comments in TA. We had a little trouble finding this place in Rue de la Matiniere when we looked at the map and walked our way by the river.... More

What a wonderful experience! Managed an outside table and spent an evening enjoying whatever Christophe brought out. This is not a restaurant as such, there is no written menu, more a place to try different wines and graze on seasonal produce- meats, cheeses etc. Christophe is a great host, a genuine love of what he does which shows through his careful choices of... After reading a number of reviews on TripAdvisor we decided to spend an evening at La Bouteillerie. We had no problem getting a table, but I would imagine in the busy season it would be best to book ahead. Christophe was quite charming and knowledgeable with his wine suggestions. Even my French friend, who is quite an expert on wine,... More

We found a gem in Lyon. Enjoyed two wonderful evenings. We were able to just walk in the first night. Secured a reservation to ensure the second visit. The wine and food were excellent. But what made the difference is Christophe. We felt we were visiting in a friend's house. The atmosphere and ordering is a little different. Just relax... More

We visited La Bouteillerie after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor. We were not disappointed by the wine, food, or Christophe. We ended up missing our reservations at a nice restaurant in town as we had such an enjoyable time wine tasting and learning about French wine from Christophe. Highly recommend!

Chrisophe is an exceptional human. His knowledge of wine, his gracious manner in teaching the nuances of different French wines and his paring these wines with a variety of delicious cheeses made for easily one of our most enjoyable evenings in a long vacation of travel. We went to a highly rated restaurant the following night and there was no... More
