It's an event for tourists. Not always easy to find a place. Ok if you want to sit almost on your neighbours lap to make conversation. It has atmosphere that ist mostly appreciated by tourists. Wine is ok - prices are a little bit up. Food is local food that my mother cooked in the fifties and sixties. If you... More

Tiny little and very typical German restaurant. Absolutely important to book in advance and there are few tables. It might happen to share the table with other people which makes the experience even more joyful. Food is good and the Schnitzel massive, beer amazing!

I tried to visit this place on a Saturday but it was full, came back with my partner on Sunday because I've heard very good feedback. The atmosphere of the restaurant was good, as you can sit next to other people on a table and socialise. However the rude behaviour of restaurant manager on getting order, bringing food and when... Wow - Schnitzelbank! Still dreaming about that enormous, fabulous schnitzel with blue cheese sauce :) This is a crowded, happy, noisy little place and you are best to book in advance. Recommended.

Good authentic German food sold at a reasonable price. Limited beer selection but wines on tap. Very crowded so you will end up sharing a table with someone, most likely a college student as this restaurant is very popular with the younger crowd.

I loved this restaurant. The ambiance is second to none. found in a small street in old town Heidelberg you step into this tiny yet cozy and extremely vibrant place. The waiters are friendly and the service is excellent. The food was also delicious since we are vegetarian we had the mushroom noodles and they were amazing!! A must visit... More

For the restaurant rated number 1 in TripAdisor, we had higher expectations. The food is indeed good, the service is so so...not so friendly and the place is really small and uncomfortable. After all I was rather disappointed and can not understand all the fuss over this place!! Prices are average.

I went with my girlfriend, and they allocated us in a table in the middle of the small restaurant, it was ok, but when I asked if we could sit down in another table sharing with two people, they said that the table was booked at certain time, afterwards we realized it was not true. After asking what wine they... More

Absolutely amazing food. Anything on the menu is worth trying. The pepper steak and the swaiban casserole are great choices! Wonderful service and great down home atmosphere.
