On holiday in Germany we visited this restaurant on our second last night and I've got to admit that the Schnitzel with cheese sauce and sliced potatoes was the tastiest I've had to date. Good wine and beer selection and reasonable prices too!

Two persons: 1 schnitzel, 1 pumpkin soup, meat balls plus drinks it was around 40€. Not the cheapest you can get but worth it. Very good food and nice environment.

Visited for dessert with business colleagues. We all loved our desserts including the apple strudel and chocolate mousse. Highly recommend for German cuisine

We had a wonderful dining experience at the Hackteufel. Be sure to make reservations because they fill up fast and it's hard to get in but that's a testament to the restaurant. Unless you're an expert, ask the waiter for a recommendation for the perfect wine for your meal. He is an expert and will direct you to the perfect... More

We ate lunch here - the restaurant is situated in a narrow alley that connects the market place to the old bridge and has alfresco dining. We ordered one vegetarian flammkuchen and roast pork with gravy. My wife quite liked her flammkuchen (she isn't a big pizza pan) and my roast pork was nice too. PS: there is an ice-cream... More

Very frendly staff. We were placed at the owner's table, and it was nice talking to him. Huge portions and very good, traditional german schnitzel. Would go there again.

We had dinner at this restaurant. Everything was good: food, service, decor. A delicious cold beer and a good snack to him.

What a find (help of TA), came for lunch today and very pleased we did. Took the recommendations of Dennis and had Hessisches Kochkas-schnitzel and the Hackteufels sauerkraut-orgie mit feuerwurst, pfalzer saumagen....... both from the classic dishes menu and highly recommended. If I. One back, I'll come here for sure.... Dennis really looked after us...... top man, thank you.
