We love this restaurant and visit here at least twice a year . This is a dream come true restaurant for Nuremberg born owner and chef, Nick. Years ago Nick worked as a chef in NYC at the Novotel in Midtown Manhattan.Nick knows how to create great food and understands excellent customer service and hospitality. He loves his restaurant and... More

Came here as it looked great. Would highly recommend making reservations especially on the weekend as you probably won't get in otherwise. Two of us for dinner on a Friday night and did not have reservations but timed it just right and a table had just opened up. The building was built around 1171 and has been well kept with... More

From the small door entrance, to the steep steps down into the castle turret shaped restaurant with knights in armour statues this place is pretty different to most and really cool. It is quite unassuming from the main square above. The waiter was friendly with a good sense of humour. The food was very good but not large portions. The... More

This restaurant doesn't look like much from the street, but you go through a very short door, and then a very steep staircase to the cellar. It's actually a medieval beer cellar! It's very nice and cozy, and the food is some of the best that I've had in Nürnberg. My wife had Rouladen, and I had the pork shoulder.... More

What a lovely place, the food was excellent, the staff were very friendly and the restaurant itself is below street level in a Keller. Portions were huge. Highly recommend

We walked into the Paulaner Brauhaus to eat but they were full, so we luckily discovered Der Nassauer Keller. We'd walked past 6 times already and hadn't seen the tiny door into the restaurant. What a find!. The setting and architecture is worth a visit alone so the food had to be good to complement the surroundings. And it was.... More

Good German food in an interesting, medieval atmosphere. The entrance door is rather low, so watch your head, and a stair leads down into the cellar, where the restaurant is. Not recommended with prams or wheelchairs. Downstairs you dine between medieval armor, they serve good traditional German food and the service was fast and friendly. We enjoyed the atmosphere.

Great place which you could easily miss as it's underground with just 2 little doors on the outside but definitely worth a visit. The food was great for all 4 of us and the staff were lovely. Watch your head when going up the stairs though!
