Built and decorated as a typical Bavarian restaurant, it's a great place to have a meal with friends. The staff is friendly and the food is good. I just had problems to pay with my credit card :(

Nice place to hang with friends. Very close to the city center. The style of the restaurant makes you feel a real German. The food was good. The service very slow and The waitress very unkind.what a pity!

Located in the oldest part of Nuernberg, close to the imperial castle, the place is quite characteristic. The furniture hanging by the walls: shields, helms, and weapons are all clearly thought just to appeal the inexperienced visitor. I had the “imperial dinner” and the waiters, the bard with the music, the costumes and the pillory are all designed to try... More

We went to this restaurant during a business trip. To access to the restaurant you have to go downstairs to discover a nice medieval setting. As a starter we took some sausages and for the main dish I took slices of beef with spätzle and vegetables. The dish was accompanied with a creamy sauce containing mushroom. Everything including a Weissbier... More

Thought this would be a bit of a gimmick place with the minstrel singing and the decor...bit actually it was great. The food was very good, well cooked with excellent ingredients and great beer...and everyone got into the mood and started singing along. Loud, rumbustious fun with remarkably good food.

This restaurant was recommend to me by a local friend and though I thought I knew Nuremberg really well, having lived there for years, I was so surprised to have followed his advice. This is the perfect dining experience, medieval style. There are two different restaurant: the old kitchen (upstairs) and the medieval cellar (downstairs, way downstairs). We dined in... More

Hearty Bavarian fare close to the heart of town. We were the guests here of friends who we visited. I enjoyed the goose and my husband had a spareribs dish

We went there with friends visiting from the US. We had no reservations but they still managed to squeeze us in. Food, service and beverages were ok, about what you expect from a place in such an exposed location. Much better choice than Röslein around the corner but loses to Albrecht-Dürer across the street.

Cozy restaurant to enjoy Bavarian specialties and great beer. At the heart of the old town of Nuremberg in an beautiful old house. Dishes were well made and I could enjoy the roasted lamb rib.

We were in the dungeon part of the restaurant which was a little scary for young kids - it had a witch in chains in the display. I had the schnitzel and it was average. My husband had the goose and he said it was amazing and raved and raved about it. Service was nothing special. I wouldn't return.
