Got introduced to this historical kitchen by our tour guide. And as we have tried several sausages already around the christmas market, this is far the best with the kraut!!! Must try when you are around Regensburg!!

While spending the whole day walking the streets of Regensburg, the tour guide mentioned to us that Wurstkuchl is the oldest restaurant in Germany with the original sausages! There was an option of standing in the queue and just ordering the sausage on the bun with sauerkraut, but since there were four of us, we found a table and were... More

After tour of Regensberg, we had lunch here. Had the six small grilled sausage with sauerkraut plate plus potato soup, homemade breads with German mustard and hot mulled wine plus bottled water. Excellent meal. Very good. Very reasonable. Total bill was 20 Euro per person tip included.

Enjoy authentic local wurst and beer in this 500-plus-year-old restaurant. If you prefer to eat indoors, you'll enter through the busy kitchen where you'll see the cooks grilling hundreds of sausages over flaming charcoal. The eating area is typical, old-style German. There are three long tables and a long bar, but the room is very small and can only accommodate... More

This is an oldest bratwurst grill that serves Regensburger sausages. They were prepared in an open beech-wood charcoal grill. We chose to sit outside so we could enjoy the fresh air and also less crowded.

We allotted time to make sure we sample the Historische Wurstkuche bratwurst after our Regensburg walking tour with Viking River Cruise. It was fun to experienced what the locals in the past had eaten here as their meal. The bratwurst is grilled and 2 are served in soft buns, optional sauerkraut, and must have their delicious sweet mustard. We ate... More

The little sausages served in buns with sauerkraut and sweet Mustard are a really good treat at 2.50 Euros each. You can buy the mustard here at 2 Euros for a 200ml bottle. We will think of Regensburg every time we use the mustard!
