Nice traditional bavarian restaurant with good standard menue and also 2 or 3 day or seasonal specials. Stylish wood interior, friendly staff, good food (big portions!) In winter you can even get your beer warm there if you want.

This place is tucked away and not easy to find the customers are mainly locals . The decor is authentic warm and welcoming. The staff are friendly and helpful. The menu consists of local dishes the portions are large and the food excellent. Superb local beer served in stoneware jugs. Great value well done to all involved.

Went for dinner and was not disappointed. Was wanting great traditional german food, and this delivered. Service was great. Happy to help when the language barrier got in the way (I speak limited German) so recommend to those who don't speak any, as the staff will help. The food was great. Very traditional. And the beer was terrific. Recommend if... More

What an attractive exterior & interior in this gasthaus that's over 400 years old. Mozart dined here as did Goethe & Diesel ( inventor of the diesel engine). Very generous servings of my main meal, Grillpfanne Bauerntanz & salad with excellent flavours are nicely presented. A light Staufenberg red wine was a good accompaniment to my dinner. Service was good... More

Fantastic evening outside, lovely atmosphere, with very friendly service. Great food and drinks. The only minus was that the chicken in the chicken salad was quite salty. Would definitely return, with kids too! Fantastic!

We went there after checking tripadvisor. We were looking for traditional babarian meals, and they have plenty of them. The quality is very good and the staff really helpful. It was exactly what we were looking for.

Have found this place following the reviews on TripAdvisor; and it really was worth visiting. The atmosphere is very friendly. You can find any types of visitors there - families with children, seniors, friends. The service and the quality are great, and prices are very reasonable (one dish and beer was about 10 euros).

This Swabian-Bavarian restaurant in the old town says it is the oldest inn in Augsburg having been established in 1572 as a brewery and 1576 as an inn. They said Goethe, Mozart, and Diesel visited here. They say the food is sourced locally and is freshly served, we found the food is tasty and good value. The service is very... More

I really don't understand the good reviews. We ate some plate with different meats and everything was prepared earlier and just warmed up and servered...just warm meat, not even hot...so you can imagine the taste... never again.
