This a cosy, traditional place and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Great service. Food was delicious and reasonably priced and the place had a lovely atmosphere with a mix of locals and visitors. One of my favourite places we ate while in Berlin.

The waitress wasn't kind and welcoming at all! Didn't thank us and didn't even say goodbye. They've put water in our wine. The food wasn't great for the price. Won't go over there ever again, don't recommend it and it seams that they don't like tourists.

A truly nice place for a pit stop. Cosy and traditional in a merry blend. Stop by and enjoy good food and a proper selection of good beers. Must be a very poular place, locals and tourists came and went continuously. Enjoy. Sendt fra min iPad

Visited on a Monday night fairly late (9.30pm) on and managed to get a table for four (actually just by sitting down). We were served our beers quickly, and the waitress wasn't fazed by us waiting for the other two diners to arrive. On to the food, then. Simply put, this was the best meal we ate over the course... We stopped in for lunch but we were too early. They told us to come back in twenty minutes, and fortunately we did exactly that, because they served us our food as soon as we sat down - they had timed it for us. Excellent traditional foods served by people who care about and enjoy what they are doing.

A cozy place serving South German food. Vegetarian options. Lots of different pizzas. A decent selection of beers on tap. Convenient little enclosure behind what looked like a fireplace suitable for small groups / business meetings (up to 10 people) Lunchtime Specials were around EUR 10 Beware: no credit cards are accepted.

We ordered one of the evening special meal (roasted pork) and a menù meal (sausages): both were tasty!!! For dessert we chose the apricot creme brûlé with chocolate ice cream: it was like the main meals. Furthermore, the staff is kind and smiling. I will come back!

Very friendly staff, a large selection of German dishes including a german version of pizza, all in a nice atmosphere and an interesting decorated space in the heart of Berlin. I really liked the game sausages and the schnitzel was also delicious. Definitely recommended for a delicious German experience.

We had dinner here on New Year's Day and it was excellent. The place was full so we had to sit at the bar but it was warm and the service was great so we didn't mind. We both had pork schnitzel and are still talking about it tonight. If I ever get back to Berlin this will be my... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
