Food at Amber is cheap. But actually to cheap to be good. The quality is inferior and the service is friendly but inattentive. Don't waste a night out here.

I ordered a starter plate...I have never eaten such a disgusting food! It came already after 5 minutes and was just fried pieces with some indefinable stuffing and some ketchup. Everything for 8,00EUR!!! When I complained at the boss he didn´t even excuse. Please don´t go there even if they offer very cheap cocktails (not tasty at all)!

The food was okay, but the service was terrible. At all times I felt like the waiter was annoyed by my presence.

Bad food and bad service in one sentence. They used at least one month old frozen chicken for the food I've ordered. If you want to eat Indian food from Berlin then there are better alternatives.

I usually love indian food, but a visit here was just one big disappointment. The service was incredibly bad, the food was tasteless and they'd even watered out the soap in the bathroom so much that I wasn't really soap anymore... The waiter was rolling his eyes when I asked for things, and I didn't feel welcome at all. Not... More

In a city where u gotta trek and can struggle to find the best places to go, Amber was a reliable base every night of the week. It's a simple place, not grimy not posh. It's cheap like the budgie and their cocktails are strong and do the job Ended up there every night and it was busy but what... More

I've been here a few times. The food is about average for an Indian restaurant. Nothing out of the ordinary, the usual prices from 4,90 EUR for a meal and a business lunch during the week. So why am I giving 2 out of 5 stars? Because today we told the waiter that there was something wrong with the salad... More

I don't know about the food but the cocktails are delicious and they are always 3 Euros 80 - you can't beat that! My husband and I always headed here after our evening meal and thoroughly enjoyed it. The location of the place is excellent, right in the heart of it all. The staff are extremely polite and friendly and... More

My son and I both love curries but, sadly, were hard pressed to apply that term to the meals served up last night. They bore no resemblance to what you would expect to receive anywhere the length and breadth of the UK. Fair enough we were in Berlin so expected (indeed were really looking forward to) the German interpretation of... More

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighbourhood Profile
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
