This restaurant was close to our hotel and we went there one evening. We booked a table but when we came the waiter couldn´t find our booking but fortunately we were late in the evening so they could fit us in. I think you need to book a table here since it´s a small place and it was rather busy... More

A friendly welcome and excellent food. This is one of the best Thai meals I have ever had - and I have returned for the second time. The service is attentive and quick and all the usual Thai favourites are beautifully prepared.

This is a very nice little unassuming restaurant outside Berlin central. There is a good variety of Thai food and everything I tasted was excellent. My fellow travellers loved their food as well. The only drawback is that the service is quite slow. It is hard to track the server down when you need her, and the food delivery could... More

This is based on the male waiter who was so rude and belligérant that I had not choice but to walk out despite being tired and hungry. They had lots of customers and clearly do not care about service levels. Truly to be avoided.

First thing you notice is that the place is crowded with Asians which tells you the food must be really good. That's indeed the way it is: starters, main courses, salads and dessert taste simply delicious. Presentation is really accurate. Service is attentive. Cosy atmosphere. Prices are fair. Booking highly recomended.

Lovely and authentic I had a very coconut milk influenced meal with a starter of soup, and a tofu curry in coconut milk for main, dishes come with generous amounts of jasmine rice and it doesn't cost a lot. The place has a well stocked bar too

I like the pork green curry that I ordered. Having lived many years in Asia, I do not question the certificate of authenticity hanging at the bar. The price is reasonable and there are many vegetable dishes offered. The restaurant had a full house when I was there. While waiting staff was responsive, they were quick to walk away.

Booked a table - which wasn't ready - and left after 30 minutes without being offered so much as a drink or even seeing a menu. Luckily, stumbled upon PK Pan-Asian Kitchen just up the street, wonderful service, fresh food and great prices.

In Berlin now and was craving for an Asian dish. While walking around, saw Suksan and suddenly felt the urge to go inside. The ambience and decoration is like you're in a typical Thai restaurant. Food and service is great. I can say the value for your money is worth every cent. Come early because the restaurant tends to fill... More

The feeling of being on holiday under a bamboo roof ... The Suksan has an exotic-looking wooden dining area with its black ceiling fans and is popular with a business clientele. Candlelight, flower arrangements and a flat screen give the place an unusual feel. The Thai staff are friendly and smiling and provide exceptionally good service. The menu offers dishes such as Tom Kah Gai (coconut milk soup with chicken, coriander, tomatoes and mushrooms) and Pla Lad Prik (fried tilapia served with garlic, chilli and sweet and sour sauce). The restaurant also offers a selection of German and Mediterranean wine.

Staying in Schoneberg

Neighbourhood Profile
In 1963, Schöneberg was the centre of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the centre of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
