My boyfriend and I visited this restaurant after seeing the good reviews on here and we were not disappointed! First evening in Berlin and we were after German cuisine and that's exactly what we got! We both had the spicy goulash soup for starters which was heavenly and I had the sausage platter with mash and sauerkraut for my main... More

I decided for this place for a dinner, which was nothing complicated, just scrambled eggs, asparagus and boiled potatoes but everything was good, generous portion and good price (less than 20€, including a pint of weissebier) , nice personnel and typical German environment, relaxing, Close to elegant Ku'damm which is nice for an evening walk. Few parking spaces in the... More

I visited this restaurant during lunch time on Saturday. It was half empty, there were some French and Korean tourists. There were some tables reserved but I guess people eat later during the weekends. I had Königsberger Klopse. It was the first time I had this type of meatballs with all these capers. It was good, I like it but... More

In you are in the zoo area, this place is really practical. It's walking distance from the zoo metro station and the food is pretty good. The decor is nice, what I assume to be typical. The outside is covered in scaffolding so I missed it on my search. If you miss it, ask like I did! I had weiner... More

Do not waste your time with new gen. weird places. If you're in Berlin, you should eat like a German and feel the origins. This is the place where they have and cook with the original recipie. From kitchen to your table, all prepared and served with kindness.. Try the bar with their gentleman bar tender. All good, everything as... More

Last week we visited Berlin for the first time. On our first night we booked to have dinner at Gasthaus Kromberg, as previous tripadvisor reviews suggested that it would offer us the perfect introduction to classic German cuisine. We were given a very warm welcome and the general atmosphere was lively, relaxed, bustling and friendly. The service was efficient and... More

If you come for a beer or a typical Berliner/german dinner: it doesn't matter: they treat you like a king and you receive beautiful tasting authentic food and the best beer in town: Augustiner from the tap. One German word: Stammkneipe

German cuisine is quite specific, with big portions of meat, fat sauces, red cabbage, sauercraut, ... and one may love it or not, but Gasthaus Krombach is really a very good place to try it out! Royal portions, well prepared good meat and really great cabbages! Very good and friendly service. And all that at a very decent price.

We visited for lunch on our first day in Berlin. The restaurant has lots of tables & well spaced. The menu is very extensive with plenty of choice! The service was excellent which really makes this restaurant. Good place to come for good honest German food! The 'Berliner' beer is not to be missed!

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
