We'd been to BrewDog Berlin reccomended by our son who is a brewer(MagicRock)The beer and go to eat place was Augustiner if you want southern German food.It was fine.Plenty of Stag parties and typical beer and Pork Knuckle.Bit like mass catering with style-most suitable for groups letting their hair down.

Lovely venue, friendly staff. The menu was quite varied and the meals of a good size and good value for money. The desserts were huge!

A warm and vibrant atmosphere. The service was brilliant - led by Dominic, a born and bred Berliner. The food was German, homely and generous. We tried both lager and wheat beers - fantastic.

This place is not for the faint hearted! The 1kg pork knuckle is fabulous if you like lots of meat and crackling. The Augusiner beer, brewed by monks who ought to know better, is lethal! We loved it and there is an English menu and some of the staff speak English. It is very popular.

If you’re looking for traditional German cuisine and beer in Mitte Berlin, Augustiner am Gendarmenmarkt is definitely the place to go! We enjoyed the food and the beer was so good! The pork was savoury and the goulash very flavourful. The service was very good too!

This is my second time here, and everytime the food, the beer and the ambient are great! I really love the Augustiner beer, and the white susages, as well as the schweineaxe. It is really a spot of Bavaria out of Bavaria!

Seems like the regular German food and menu. In fact we came across the exact same printed menu at a entirely different restaurant that did not seem to be related. I wonder if they just offer the same items and description all over town? My pork dish was ok but I did not like the cabbage.

This is the Berlin branch of the Augustiner restaurant and brewery in Munich. Eating in places like this is part of the experience when visiting Germany and should not be missed. We had an enormous plate of sausages and dumplings, all washed down with excellent Augustiner beer. Service was quick and efficient. This place gets crowded, though.

This restaurant had been recommended to us by a tourist guide. It was very busy even though it was still early in the evening and we weren't really acknowledged waiting in a queue by the door. A table was eventually found. The waiting staff was efficient but looked harassed. - No warmth there....The food arrived in good time but was... More

Simple as that. Go there and taste Edelstoff or any of the beers they have. You'll surely love them. The food is good, German cuisine with pork meat, sausages, currywurst and so. But, please, go after the beer.

Thank Maestro B

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
