Quick service with lovely sandwiches, salads, omelettes. There are quite a few veggie options as well.

We were really looking forward to trying these banh mis. We were kind of disappointed to be honest... The vegetables were not pickled enough (or at all), something you should expect in a real banh mi and there was a lack of fresh herbs. The meat was tasty but didn't make up for it. Fairly priced for a quick lunch,... More

I have to come back to Co Co Banh Mi once in a while since my friend introduced me. The place is greatly decorated and the food is great for very little money. Has enough places to sit down most of the times.

We went first just to have a vegan bahn mi and glass of wine. Tasty, filling and reasonably priced. We returned and had mango curry. Delicious and full of vegetables. Excellent for vegans and vegetarians

We had pho, which was delicious, but it's much more like a take away place. The music was to loud and has nothing to do with Vietnam..

Co co Bahn, located in Mitte, not far from Museum Insel, is a great place to enjoy a Vietnamese lunch, especially the bahn mi, which is their speciality. Bahn mi is a remnant from French colonialism in Vietnam: A baguette filles with fresh "Vietnamese" vegetables, herbs, meat and seasoning. At Co Co they make the Bahn Mi as you order,... More

An odd choice for our first meal in Germany, but we just wanted something quick and since we love a good banh mi we gave it a try. A little different from the California style but there were fresh and tasty, and we could sit and people watch while we ate.

The meat is different than what we are used to in California-not grilled, but tender and flavorful. Fresh ingredients. Also great ginger-mint drinks and fresh squeezed apple-carrot juice.

The banh mi here are worth going for, but not up to Paris or Portland standards. The staff are friendly and the decor is cool.

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
