We stopped here for a cocktail late afternoon and liked it so much we booked a table for later that evening. Great cocktails and lovely staff. Good food and very reasonably priced. Great atmosphere and seemed to be local clientele

Went here on the last night of our trip when staying in the Amano as it was right over the road and we couldn't be bothered walking too far. Nice atmosphere and lighting. We had 2 pizzas, both nice, although crust slightly crispy for my taste, still very nice though. The waiter was by far the friendliest we encountered on... More

We were looking for some place to have lunch in the area and randomly entered Sisal. We were greeted by a very friendly waitress, we ordered some food and it arrived just moments later. It was very tasty and the portions were big! The price was very reasonable, even for students like us. Recommended for a easy, tasty lunch :)

Accidently stumbled across this place for shelter from the snow, initially we were just looking for a drink, having looked at the menu we decided to eat. The food was really good and quite reasonably priced which is always a winner but for us the best part was the great service, extremely friendly and we felt as a whole very... More

A group of six of us popped in here for a quick dinner on Saturday the 10th of December and we were blown away by the helpfulness of our waitress who managed to squeeze us in to an already packed restaurant and managed to get us in and out within an hour as requested so we could make it to... We were walking around doing some shopping, and needed a break. We stopped to have a small meal and something to drink. The service was very good, quick and attentive. From outside it was not easy to see that this was a pleasant place, but inside it was very nice. We had two different salads, both were very good -... More

Facing opposite each other is a colorful Vietnamese restaurant and a classic Italian restaurant. Went Italian and enjoyed some good Bavarian beers and interesting pizzas and bruschetta. The food was very nice, beer was cold, service was good and toilets were clean and bill was not exorbitant. Probably not ideal for a romantic date (across the road probably better) but... More

Wonderful food and wonder staff. Very friendly and a very extensive menu. The Schweineschnitzel was the highlight. There were nine of us in the party and we were sat together with no fuss.

Lovely local cafe with excellent food and service. I don't know why it requires more than that but I'm just filing I'll the characters.

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
