I have been to this place two times now. The interior of the restaurant is cool and different from other places. Friendly and attentive service. The menu is a mix of dishes from all over the place, from Schnitzel over Curries to Lasagna. They also have a 3-course menu for around 30 Euros which I have tried once and it... More

food was absolutely average and for berlin too expensive, especially for what you get: a plate with kassler (pork in slices) with weird vegies (no taste, was undercooked) and boring boiled potatoes for 18 eur is to me not acceptable, even if all is organic (what i don't know). the others ordered pasta, was okay but nothing special though..but for... From the moment we walked in the door I knew I'd like the restaurant. The decor is very cool. The service is also excellent - very friendly and helpful waiters. The restaurant has a menu split into its regular dishes (old girlfriends) and its special / seasonal fare (new girlfriends). At the moment (December 2015) they have a Christmas-themed set... More

We booked a table for 4, but when we arrived, something was wrong with the reservation and there was no place. They fixed the problem, and we enjoyed the good, honest food. One of the dishes was wrong but they offered not to charge it. Friendly people, good service, good food, nice place.

The abitur does not seem to be necessary when it comes to cooking, being creative and running a café! In a group of 4, we tried vegetarian and non-veg dishes (chili sin carne, Königsberger Klopse veg., Bœuf Stroganoff), everything was very good. Service was extremely friendly, and the atmosphere just cool. They deserve their good ratings. Keep it up!

We went here after work for a very early pre-Christmas dinner. If you haven't got a reservation, forget it. It is in the "posher" half of Kreuzberg and very popular. The menu is very interesting - the dishes are named after films. I had "und abends in die Scala", which is appparently a German film from 1957 (probably unknown elsewhere).... More

Very nice place. We were sitting outside enjoying last beams of the sun while the sun slowly went down behind houses. Waiter was very nice, spoke good english and was able to help us with our menu choices. New german kitchen which means different international tastes. Thai curry was good, meat balls were available, schnitzel with pasta, rucola and pesto... More

"Maedchen ohne Abitur" means something like "Girls without diploma". I did not quite understand why it is called so - somebody tried to explain to me but I did`t get it...;) The food was good. The interior unusual and very relaxing. There is also a terrace and I suppose it is really nice sitting outside - the street does not... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
