Very cozy and nice altough there is little space inside so it was a bit hard to find a place to sit. A little old fashioned, cinema themed decorations give this cafe a unique character. The coffee was good and the staff was helpful. Great place for a cold day in Berlin.

One of my first bars in Berlin was this one, with good beers good deco as if you are on set, intimate and friendly setting with music from movies playing the background. Drop it a visit

This was our second time to this great bar, the first being in August 2013. The bar is small with dim lights and movie memorabilia on the walls. Very relaxed, chilled out place with great music and ambiance. Locals chatting away over coffee or beer. There is seating outside which was great back in August 2013 but too snowy this... More

A very cool place, with movie posters all over the wall and other memorabilia. Drinks were reasonably priced, however the only letdown was the perplexing service. As tourists we don't know the rules of engagement, so therefore I went to the bar only to receive a bemused look. We were told to sit down and we would be served there,... More

This is a real quirky, eclectic small bar in Mitte. Real atmosphere, great music and very, very busy. If is not a slick, beautifully furnished venue, but that adds to its character. If you love yourself and want to go somewhere pretentious where people don't go unless they are wearing designer clothes then this isn't for you. If you are... More

My brother, who lives local has always had an affinity with 'moody and edgy' places... While quite atmospheric, it reminded me of somewhere I would have gone when I was a student 25 years ago... So less edgy and more like some place that hadn't really tried to adapt or evolve... Pleasant evening, nice drink, some quirky characters in the... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
