Go for the food, return for the food and the experience. This delicious freshly cooked meal might be the best Japanese meal you've had. Dessert is a bonus.

Don't miss this restaurant on a visit to Berlin. It's on a side street and you should call for a reservation. A set bento box is served each night (in two stages in case you are not hungry for the second part) and desert. There is no menu. You need to bring your own drinks (water, wine, beer, etc). He... Found this place off the blog stillinberlin.de and thought it sounded interesting. It's a small one man shop with the chef cooking and serving. There is no menu as it is chef's choice and you can bring your own drinks. The chef was super friendly and spoke fluent English. The food was delicious and presented beautifully. The first course is... More

This is a story of a chef and his kitchen, A place with just few table and where no drink are served. It's a trip that a man has in his mind. But a goo one. It's a story of a finger food. Just small bites. But tasty one. Bring our own drink, bring lots of time, and 18 euros for a... More

My favorite place to eat now. Great food, great atmosphere, fantastic experience. Expect to wait for a long time and just chill. Also, bring your own drinks, since they only serve tea. And make reservations. The chef speaks English and is very pleasant.

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
