I get the joys of visiting Berlin every month, and each time I make a trip to Da Vinci. It is simply one of the best restaurants around Mitte - the food and service are second to none! Good English understanding as well, which is always a bonus!

An Italian restaurant in Berlin. We ate spaghetti with tomato sauce and a margherita pizza. The portions are very large. The quality is very good. And the staff is very nice. Prices are definitely reasonable.

Found this restaurant within hours of arriving in Berlin. Lovely place and great food. Staff polite, friendly and helpful. Had 2 of the specials ....prawn risotto and ravioli with walnut and cheese.... fabulous food & generous portions. Would definitely recommend a visit.

My son and I shared the margherita pizza and salad which were delicious and more than plenty. The staff was friendly and excellent as we spent extra time in there seeking refuge from the rain.

Our last night in Berlin... an Italian! Beautiful food. Very helpful waiters and we were pleasantly full. Seafood sharing starter and two plates of pasta for main. Well worth the deviation from German theme of the weekend! Grazi

I'd highly recommend Da Vinci's. The pizza napoli is delicious and salty. Da Vinci's offers a wide range of Italian food including huge pizzas for about 10 Euros. They even will box your pizza to go if you don't finish it.

Great food, reasonably priced in a really cool area of Berlin. Huge portions which were great! Only slight let down was the service was a little abrupt. Felt as if we were a bit of a nuisance but in actual fact in someways we were glad to be left alone as we just wanted a quiet meal before flying home!

Visited da Vinci due to its proximity to the Friedrichstrasse station and our hotel. The place is slightly lacking in ambience but the pizzas (very large - if you have a starter share a pizza!) were very good and service very prompt. The lighting and table positions need some fine tuning to lift up the ambience scale.

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
