A Brasserie with a French flavor and service in the middle of Berlin. After our visit to the Theater, the best place to share a late dinner, with Escargot, or a good fish as main course. Service, decoration and food are match. Texture of each dish and flavors are delicious. Beside to the fact a quite good and fast service... More

The location is very nice, I can imagine in summer what it would be like dining outside on the river Spree bank with the evening breeze. The restaurant itself is quite elegant and has a cozy atmosphere. The maître and the staff are very kind, efficient and make you feel very welcomed and pampered. Food is delicious, overall the steaks... More

Went there for dinner for 2. Service was a bit slow even though 1/3 full. Anyway ordered some food and drink. Drink came ok. When the waiter brought the wooden carving platter he was told by a female staff member to turn it over which he did. It was greasy and had some bread crumbs on it which he casually... More

We were group of 6 adults in Berlin in New years eve. We decided to have dinner in Ganymed because generally it seems like a nice place. We were wrong. Service staff try to keep good care of guests but it just did not work. Menu cost 89€ and did include one glass of sparkling wine. There was several parts... More

My daughter and I found this nice restaurant right on the canal and really enjoyed it. She had a nice lamb dish and I had seafood. Both dishes were great and the service was solid even though the riverside dining is actually across the street from the actual restaurant. Take some time, have some wine and enjoy the scenery. CK

My wife and I frequent this restaurant and love it. Best Tartar in the city. Great wine selection and a very knowledgeable staff. I can't recommend it enough.

Enjoyed our dinner. Escargots was not perfect. Our main courses were good. Admosphere with other customers was very nice. It was too busy for the servers to pay adequate attention to the clients. Value for money!

Three of us out of a group of four decided on the menu of the day and we liked the choice and the quality. It was well balanced ,perfectly ,timely served by the staff that also recommended a perfect wine to go with our meal. Apart from being a intimate well decorated place it also gives off the French feeling... More

This is a French inspired restaurant or brasserie with a great location by the Spree. The menu is reasonably varied and the atmosphere and interior very cosy. Attentive service staff and an OK wine list.

Vive la France - at the Schiffbauerdamm.
Gourmets and fans of the French cuisine are pampered by the Brasserie Ganymed on the highest culinary standards. In former times, Bert Brecht and Helene Weigel stopped here to enjoy the cooking and the authentic Parisian air. The dishes are prepared with fresh, regional products and special French delicacies; the waiters celebrate flambeing, carving and filleting in front of the guests. On hot days and warm summer nights, be sure to secure a place on the Spree Terrace.

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
