I have been to Many Indian Restaurants in Berlin every time I visit but I think I'll be only coming to Amrit every time I visit next. The food quality and quantity is very good, prices are reasonable, centrally located and the food taste gorgeous. Amritsari Chole and bhatura is a must!! Highly recommended and will be back!

Me and my partner visited in January. Amazing (and strong) cocktails, such a variety. Great staff, so friendly and lots of veggie options on the menu. The food was flawless and I recommend the madras. Was so fast too.

Stumbled into this restaurant New Years Eve 2016. We were harrassed to pay straight after receiving our meal. I realize that it was close to 12 midnight but the food was not of a high quality. The rice tasted like it was boiled in soiled laundry water. The cocktails looked ok but the customer service was poor. Not impressed so... More

Despite the funky oriental decor, first-class service and copious portions, Amrit falls down on the most important element of any restaurant: the quality of the food. The best item I sampled - apart from a welcome glass of beer - was the free serving of spicy papadams, admittedly slightly overbrowned, and badly in need of the chutneys that only appeared... More

We were greeted and seated quickly. Very fast and efficient service. Food definitely hit the spot with good portion size. Would recommend the bhatoora naan.

It was a delicious experience that's for sure. The portions were massive and we felt so full after our lunch. The curry was creamy and rich, exactly how I like it to be. The food wasn't too spicy, which was also to my liking. The naan bread was massive and very flavoursome. To drink, you can't go wrong with the... More

FANTASTIC Singaporean restaurant in Mitte, Berlin. The vegetarian food was absolutely fantastic, they make there own special cheese in stead of for example tofu, and it was delicious. We also tried other dishes, and they were also fantastic. High quality food, friendly prices and a nice waiter.

Restaurant was quite quirky and service was good and it was really busy (there are a load of seats rammed in so was a bit squashed in there). My partner and I ordered a few curries as we like variety and they were pleasant enough but nothing particularly special and I would be lying if I said the meal was... More

We had a hard tima finding this place, therefore, the kitchen was almost closing and we were rushed to order. The server gave us some recommendations based on what we told him we were looking for but still felt rushed. When we received our order, I was very happy with our choices. Although the portions were not huge, the taste... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
