Very simple and plain looking place , food was "homey" , service was very very slow although the waiters were trying to be nice about it. Prices were relatively high for Berlin . Can easily skip this one

We wanted to find an Italian restaurant off the tourist tracks, and really succeeded, atleast in March. The dishes are big, really fresh and compete so well with the best original dishes we have had in Italy. The place was filled by 8 PM (definately book a table) with locals, one family, some couples, groups of friends. Just like in... More

Went there on a Thursday night. It's a little but very cosy Italian restaurant and bar. We ordered red wine, 1 Mozarella Caprese, 2 Gnocchi Ricotta e Spinacchi and 2 Tiramisu. All of it was very good and you could really tell the gnocchis were homemade. The waiter spoke German, French and English. We stayed there until the closing (midnight)... More

I was searching for a supermarket and getting bored and hungry then I walked past this lovely Italian place. Enthusiastic and fast service from the staff, and my bruschetta and my salmon fillet main with black pasta were both delicious. Cosy vibe, don't mistake it for just a deli Would have given 5* but it's a little pricey I think!!... More

I walked in cullinario and they were super packed. That was the first sign they would be good. Second and majorly the main reason I Walked in was the board outside talked of a salad I have never had. Or even heard of, with ingredients I absolutely love. So I had to check it out. It's a kind of a... More

Searching for an authentic Italian restaurant close to Oranienburger Straße, we came across this little jewel. Catching the last sunrays of the day we got a table on their terrace and have been acknowledged by their friendly staff right away. They had a weekly menu in addition to their a la carte menu and I honestly did not even get... More

Really lovely pasta, wine and coffee. Friendly staff accommodated to us in English (provided English menu and translation). Bill came to 35 euros for half litre of wine, 2 pasta dishes and 2 espresso - good value for money!

We ended up here by accident (late lunchtime and this was near our hotel – Augustinerhof) and have been coming back for most of the meals we took during our short city trip. First lunch we had the vegetarian suggestion of the day, and we were sold: fresh and original dish. Classics on the menu including pasta and risotto; great... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
