I love the peanut sauce and the falafel at Nil's is really delicious! The restaurant is simple, great to take away too, but please, don't forget to get your Club Mate!

I visited Nil twice in a few days, both times in the evening for take away. There are about 7 seats where you can eat in as well. The food is fresh and delicious. Everything comes with incredibly tasty peanut sauce. I especially recommend the Sudan plate where you get a selection of all the vegetarian dishes.

Another gem in Friedrichstein. Amazing peanut butter sauce on everything! Really nice Sudanese food, really cheap. Can eat there or take away and byob from the mini markt across the road.

Had some great vegetarian food. Rice meals is both good, cheap and filling. You can get the same food in a pita instead for a meal on the go. Great flavours.

such yum sudanese style kebabs. I recommend the tofu madagaskar (€3.50) which is organic tofu with peanut sauce. you got to try the chilli sauce too on the counter. the shop is small with only a couple of tables. service is friendly and the value is great. would definitely come back again.

excellent falafel and peanut sauce for 3.50 eur, cannot ask for much more really, small place with only a few seats.. not the largest of portions compared to other fast food places nearby but good quality and a twist on the standard falafel offering.

This place is a hidden gem - it just sort of pokes out from the street inconspicuously but you might smell it before you see it. My Berliner friends insisted we go there and I am thankful we did! Fresh, hot falafel with crisp veggies, grilled cheese and peanut sauce wrapped in pita bread to-go? YES PLEASE. Give it a... More

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighbourhood Profile
Friedrichshain
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
