We did not have a booking for the café above the amazing chocolate shop however despite the queue it did not take long to get a table, so don't be put off. We went for one thing and that was the cakes! The menu looks fantastic and we had three different cakes and they were all fantastic. My Christmas one... More

and not only for the famous chocolate. You may have a normal meal (on weekdays) which is not expensive and good. But then you go down to the shop and do not stop buying the chocolates. So be careful and avoid to be a victim of temptation.

Could not resist a quick stop at Rausch's. The chocolate shop itself is very pricey but utterly amazing, filled with chocolate sculptures and shelve upon shelve of chocolatey treats. We went upstairs to the Cafe and were not dissolved - the service was excellent and staff very efficient. Quite pricey but worth every penny!

On a sunny day in unpretentious Berlin, it really doesn't get much better than this. Grab yourself a window seat with a view if you're lucky enough. Fantastic desserts, great iced coffee/chocolate, and just above a fantastic little chocolate place that you should check out. Expect to roll out of here! Great service, lovely sweets, brilliant.

We had been downstairs buying gifts for family in the chocolate shop and only happened upon this place through hunger and luck! In a nut shell we had our best food in Germany here. We didn't order starters but got a free dish of malted (chocolate) bread with a mushroom like spread. It's always a nice touch for a restaurant... More

relaxed atmosphere for a coffee shop with integrated wide variety of fine Chocolates to choose from and a great take away present to bring back home or for a gift to someone special. Price is moderate to high. Highly recommended.

It was recommended by my hotel when I asked for a simple enough present to buy to bring to a date. Chocolate! In all its varieties! And you can sit there an enjoy it all! Shop and Café! I wish I could have tasted it all! The eye eats with you, and it finds delicacies all around you! Do not... More

Delicious small tarts and also the coffee was delicious. But the portions are tiny and the prices to high. Buy a chocolate on the ground floor and get yourself a cup of coffee somewhere else

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
