Last minute idea to eat here last night ( 18th April) . Used to live in Hamburg and used it a lot for special occasions ( birthdays / anniversary etc). Believe the quality of food has got better, really warm welcome and good atmosphere. A touch expensive ' but all in all , especially that view of the lake and... More

My family took me there on my last night of my stay. The location is awesome, because it's swimming on the Alster. The food is awesome too, but too expensive. You definitely pay for the view, I've had three different types of fish and tuna sashimi as a starter, the quality was good and tasty, but the portions were a... More

Lunch at the Ristorante Portofino is a culinary delight! Pasta cooked to perfection, wonderful Italian tastes, and an atmosphere that brings you to the Italian Riviera where you are overlooking the water and water sports outside. Also service is excellent: everything arrives on the table just in the right time; efficient without being pushy. We were there for lunch. Next... More

We had dinner at Portonovo for Valentine's Day and reserved a table only two days ahead, it was no problem! We decided to go for the V-day Menu with the Black Angus filet and it melted away like butter along with a nice glass of wine. The Dessert was a Tiramisu with Strawberries, very delicious! The Location at the Port... More

Regularly at Christmas my wife and I visits the Portonovo which is on a barge in Aussen Alster. This last time it was extremely noicy with Christmasparties. With a small room you can hear all the tables so to say. The restaurant was full and it took a lot of time to get the courses. When you start looking at... More

I very nice place within the city but the first time ever I left a restaurant before main dish arrived. Place was semi empty when I entered and staff was very friendly. I could order fast and I took 2 dishes from the daily special - tomato/mozzarella salad and salmon with spinach - so nothing too fancy really. But here... More

We had lunch in this beautifull place just by the Lake "Alster" The staff is very friendly and they welcome you with open arms- just like Real Italiens do. The food is amazing and the Winelist is very nice. A place to visit if you are in Hamburg.

Easy going atmosphere still "high class". A well balanced menu and a complete wine list. To my great satisfaction the head waiter made the chef making a special "linguine a la vongole" for me. The evening was a perfect end of a perfect day in Hamburg.
