Whilst staying in the hotel we thought one night we didn't want to venture out and to stay in so we visited the hotels restaurant. We looked at the menu and thought it didn't look great as its very limited so our expectations weren't high. When we sat down and started eating the food was great and of high quality.... More

The name says it all: Slowman. It took literally two hours to get our main course. Very slow service, all serving staff seemed inexperienced and made several basic mistakes (it took forever to get the wine list; bread and butter arrived with starter rather than earlier; wrong drinks served; had to constantly ask for our glasses to be topped up;... Opposite to traditional sushi, these came with carrots and weird red vegetables in it. The Nigiri were the same weird makis but with salmon on top. The rice was also not very enjoyable. Maybe other food of the menu is better, but the sushi is not to be recommended

This is a beautiful restaurant in a good hotel. The food quality was quite good, although the menu is very limited. It's a bit expensive. Reception was rude and weird, but the waiter did a very good job.

While I loved the Reichshof hotel where I was staying, I was a bit disappointed by its restaurant. The lunch menu did not have many options and my fish was good but not outstanding, contrary to what I was expecting in a town with direct access to the sea.

I went to Slowman because I didn't want to venture out from my hotel. This was a mistake. There are much better choices within 1 block. I ordered the 3 course dinner, a beer and asked for water. The beer never came. The water cost EUR5.5 The food was nothing special - especially for the price. It was convenient but... More

Went to Slowmans as Tripadvisors have been predominantly extremely positive. Deeply disappointed. Food reasonable, but definitely at the best only 2 out of 5 based on quality and price. Ambience dull. Less than half full even on a Saturday night.. We were told that the Chef was in to live music and would personally entertain with his guitar and voice.... More

On September 3rd I went to have dinner at Slowman during my first visit in Hamburg. I was amazed when I walked through the reception/bar, which is huge and amazing looking. The staff were all smiling and welcoming, and we continued into the restaurant where we were seated. We had made a reservation with short notice, but when we arrived... More

This review is about the Slowman restaurant as it is currently Feb/2015 in Hamburg. As Slowman will move to another location we really hope that they do not change significantly and that the new location is as relaxing as the current one. We have been to the Slowman restaurant during the week on a Monday. Although going out on a... More

We spent the saturday evening dinner there with local live music. The saturday menu (4 courses) was very delicious, very fresh and local! Service stuff was exceptionally friendly; location ist quite funny since it is over several floors.

Description
The philosophy and the aspiration of the Slowman, is of enjoyment and the pleasure of natural, freshly prepared food: traditional, yet innovative. The Slowman makes a point of giving young people a new chance. Regardless of your experience or CV, there is a possibility to train as a chef or a waitress / waiter. Trainees are guided and motivated by star chef, Christian Rach, who takes these unemployed people under his wing. The menu offers a small, yet ever changing choice of dishes. You can opt for either a large or small portion. You will have a choice of dishes such as spicy beef curry, Slowman-Schnitzel with potato and cucumber salad, Thai chicken soup with coriander, Slowman's apple tart and light as air vanilla pudding with fruit of the season. The slowman restaurant is located at the hotel Reichsof Hamburg Curio Collection by Hiton.
