This is a very special place which you can either love or hate (as also the Tripavisor-reviews show). We have decided to love it some time ago, and that is why we are always having a ball here. The food is great quality local food, the drinks are good as well, it's a busy atmosphere, and the waitors are kind... More

Good food and good times at this place. Lots of tables and benches, so you never know who you might end up sitting next to. Great way to meet some local people and practice your German.

We go to Wagner every chance we get. Gegrillte Rippchen is to die for. And on Wednesdays the Rouladen is fantastic. Also go for the Apfelstrudel mit vanilla sauce, and try a Calvados mit Mispelchen apertif. And all the other stuff they have is also great. Go early to get a seat especially on weekends.

Most Frankfurter tell you that you should go and visit an Apfelwein Bar in Sachsenhausen, when visiting their city. Well you definitively should, but not the Wagner. It’s a tourist trap. The special Appelwine on the menu is not available, the one served hardly drinkable, the food is average at best (well the Kraut definitively was good) and the atmosphere... More

Food was good, nothing to rave about except the Hungarian goulash! Pork Knuckle was pretty good too, other items have had better in other places. Apple wine was very average, but that could be just personal taste.

The Frankfurt Schnitzel was incredible. The potatoes, green sauce and even the sour cream were delicious. Service was excellent and the apple wine very tasty. Small restaurant with quaint atmosphere. Will definitely eat here every time I'm in Frankfurt.

Me and my friends went here for drinks. As soon as the waiter discovered that we're not going to eat, he basicly stop serving us. After an hour he just brought a check to us and said we would have to leave. Final price didnt match to prices what was informed in the menu. Cant say anything about the food... More

A must visit if you are in Frankfurt for some authentic food, apple wine and friendly atmosphere. Great and friendly service, get a pitcher of apple wine for the table and enjoy your meal. If you are a small group, it's likely you will share your table with others and will make some new friends . Place is really busy... More

Recommended by Hotel staff at Villa Kennedy. Walked in and the place looked pretty ordinary but the head waiter was a crack up. We Loved it. He was a loud mouthed arrogant yet cheerful guy who kept us entertained as we ate the pork platter. Food was amazing. Definitely will come back.
