Wait for the food was very long time, when I asked he apparently forgot to order. Because he was forgot to order so I asked again to confirm, but the female waitress was very cynical. Although she finally brought the food but with a cynical...and unkind attitude. Apologies from the cashier. And this restaurant has a lot of flies. I saw she fallen the foods and broken the glasses. Many local Germany better then here with same taste. In summer, indoor so bad.More

TaToS1717 (2 reviews) We waited to be asked for our order for a very long time. Then we waited again for our drinks to arrive, half an hour into our visit. Later on, when the food came, we asked the waiter for another set of drinks....These never arrived. We kindly asked for the drinks twice again. In the end we had to finish our food without drinks (!). Here I must emphasise that we were polite and friendly throughout and the restaurant was not even full. The food itself was average and one dish too salty. We have been to this restaurant many times in the past and were always happy. Now we will not go back any time soon. The restaurant should seriously rethink its set-up. More

It’s been a long time since I was last in Frankfurt but I had fond memories of evenings in Atschel drinking Apfelwein and enjoying local specialities. My return did not disappoint. It is unusual times with Covid restrictions in place. You have to show proof...of vaccination, recovery or a negative test under national regulations. As a UK national I carry a printout of my NHS Covid pass - so much easier than fiddling with my phone. This was absolutely fine. The staff were very friendly, especially with my german. It wasn’t necessary as they spoke excellent english, but I persisted! Frankfurter schnitzel with fried potatoes and local grüne Soße was excellent. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.More

Sitting here on a lovely, rainy afternoon with friends playing cards, drinking apfelwein and eating green sauce. One of my most cherished memories of Germany. We all tasted each other's plates and there wasn't a bad dish on the table. We had to come back...for 1 more plate before we left Frankfurt and the bartender (who didn't speak much English) treated us to a delicious dessert drink. Don't miss this place!More

This restaurant is a good opportunity to eat and drink as a local. It’s a good idea to book a table in advance because is a bit crowded at dinner time. Great taste!

A great German restaurant where you can taste Frankfurt‘s traditional dishes. Always fully packed with staff always kind and polite. Especially the Eastern European man at the bar - one of the souls of the restaurant! Don’t miss the Mispelchen before leaving!

Stopped by Atschel for lunch after walking the city. I wasn't disappointed. The servers were friendly and helpful. This is an authentic German restaurant; long wooden benches and tables. Diners eat rather communally, which was great for striking up conversation. The food was excellent and...served hot after a bit of a wait due to the crowds at lunchtime.More
