Fascinating & personal Alt biers, interesting young hops spring speciality. Clean premise and internationally friendly service.

As large parts of the old town, now throbs to the beat of music and is frequented by stag parties, this alt house keeps its tradition and is an oasis of calm. Some of the bars in this vast building lend themselves to larger parties and serve alt later, the traditional bar on the right as you enter is the... More

Friendly atmosphere, very busy but service is still great. Tasty food, all traditional German and superb beer. Great for a night out with friends, colleagues or family.

We have enjoyed the taste of altbier twice in Zum Uerige staying outside, in the standing tables. One was during week days and the other was a crowded saturday evening. The service was quick and efficient, the beer was nice, the prices were reasonable, so what else to expect?

It's one of those Kult places to check out when you are in the Altstadt. Beer is good and service is quick, although seeing them wash the glasses late at night was somewhat uninspiring. They closed at midnight and started taking out table away as we were finishing our beer, breaking a half full glass in the process. Worth a... More

I found this place dark and dingy, and clinging on to its traditional ways made it an uninspiring evening for me. Furnishings are very basic. The beer was fine but served in small glasses, the food was German favourites involving some form of pork. Both were good value for money. Service was attentive but not particularly customer focused. Make sure... More

There could only be one place in the world like this unique - we went in because it was raining and had a beer or two where they marked our coaster

Understood this to be a must visit in Dusseldorf but found it rather strange. It was lunchtime and we ordered drinks but found that they did not sell spirits. We were offered beer wine or soft drinks. we consulted the menu an it appeared to offer only snacks. We drank up and left.
