La comida estaba muy buena, somos españoles y han hecho el esfuerzo por entendernos. Además se han preocupado de que todo estuviera bien. The food was very good, we are spanish and they make the effort to understand us. Besides they were concerned about all was ok.

As others have said this little gem is tucked away but worth finding. We had a platter of excellent liver sausage, blood sausage, cheese etc etc which was more of a feast than a snack, sitting in the sunshine. As far as we could tell we were the only tourists! With a couple of drinks each we paid €24 for... More

I was very lucky to find this place wile walking in Mainz, It looked interesting from the outside and only locals seem to go in, so I decided to have dinner. Staff was very friendly and they provided me with a menu in English, as a vegetarian I was able to have one of my best meals in Germany, and... More

Weinstube Rote Kopf is tucked away in an alley around the corner from the Gutenberg Museum and central Old Town Mainz. At first glance, it is just what you might expect for an authentic old-world German eatery: ancient building, wood panel walls, and picnic-type tables full of happy locals. Our servers were jovial, very helpful, and contribute to a most... More

I found out when dining in Mainz that many restaurants place you at tables with others. As a solo diner this was the case. Very cozy and quaint atmosphere. Small place with larger tables. They spoke English and recommended a dish for me. Nice local wine menu and traditional German fare. Overall good.

A very traditional German restaurant with good wholesome food. The level of service was also very good. A genuine interest in making sure that you were happy with your menu decision. This is also a wine house so could try wine from all the local producers by the glass. The prices for wine and food was very reasonable. It is... More

Food choice was good, a range of standards and a few specials. But I needed help with the menu, luckily a colleague is fluent in German. and it was all very good. Staff friendly and helpful.

We had family visiting and we decided to bring them here, because we have been here before. We really liked it here when we ate here before and our family really thought it was really nice. The food was great and the wine was awesome. We can't wait to go again.

Attractive location mainly used by locals.waitress had little English so we stuck to menu and not sure about specials. Chicken, pork and lamb dishes all tasty. Had some local wine and meal was good value.

Charming restaurant in a quiet area with amazing food and very-very friendly staff. You have to try the goatcheese with honey.
