Hot tasty food with a good service, cannot go wrong on your first night in Trier. We will venture further afield for future nights.

Zum Domstein is very much hit or miss. The schnitzel was a miss--fatty and bland-- while the lamb was ok and the curried chicken was very good. Service was brusque even by German standards and despite having reserved a table, we felt rushed throughout the meal. There are better places in Trier.

What a lovely restaurant around the corner from Dom Trier! The staff was great, and very friendly. The food was delicious and the menu was surprisingly varied. Highly recommend this property to any and all visitors and locals alike.

The staff is very kind, they gave us a bigger table than we needed even though they were full. The food was alright. Unfortunately they served frozen vegetables with the food, which is not acceptable. The chocolate mousse was from a package and quite grainy, i had vanilla "sauce" (more like a custard) that wasn't home made. The strudel wasn't... More

We went as a group of four to this restaurant because we wanted to eat some authentic German food in the very German town. We were very happy with our choice. There was a nice noisy and friendly atmosphere and we were attended to quickly and cheerfully. We were able to choose a range of authentic dishes, and I was... More

Over 100 different dishes offered in this restaurant. As a consequence, nothing is fresh... bad-tasting food both in the German and the "Roman" part of the menu. Kitsch decor, service is ok... nothing to add.

Very popular and crowded, with a most unusual and interesting option of Roman menus adapted from the recipes of Apicius. We had the second set menu, starting with green beans and sausages, both delicious, and then one fish and one ham; I don't think the fish sauce was nearly as pungent as Roman writers describe, but it was very pleasant.... We visited this place twice. Both times food was good and ladies were nice. Wine and bear are good too. Thanks a lot!

We had a full Roman set dinner in the cellars among old artefacts. Very interesting food, all quite edible. Vegetarian dishes especially recommended.
