Really really great to be here at the Bastille restaurant in Saarbruecken (s-w Germany) near Luxembourg. We are here from time to time as we do business in the region. Last week we had an excellent Schnitzel with asparagus and my colleague had salmon pancakes. It was absolutely delicious and we had a great lunch in the sun! ☀️

We ate at the restaurant La Bastille today and it was again great! 👌 We were sitting on the terrace together with friends and our kids. The waitress immediately brought us two children chairs and was really nice and corteous. For starters I had a fresh tomato soup and my wife had the delicious fried shrimps. Then I had the... More

We were fortunate enough to get a table for 2 on a Friday evening without reservation. Very cozy, service very accomodating. We ordered a lovely St. Veran chardonnay and the absolute best mussels in wine sauce we ever had (they were specially from Mont St. Michel). There was plenty of bread to soak up any remaining sauce. Main courses were... More

The food is traditional saarland style. The Dibbelabbes is a must try although it is quite expensive considering the ingredients are just some basic stuff plus flour... Good spot for junk food if you love fried food... Ambience is nice and service is good. Overall perhaps better for a drink than a full on dinner. Better to go in summer... More

The dibbe labbes are well cooked - crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Service can be a bit slow. Portion is also not huge but enough if you are not very hungry. Slightly on the expensive side for what you get...

one of these nice hidden places, where you can have very fine prepared meals without sophistication, nice service, good wines, and low prices. Jut in a little calm street next to the Motel-One and behind the main terrass place... they'll have local specialties, but also very nice and simple roasted merguez with roasted potatoes.... all very traditional but prepared with... During our trip to Europe we were on our way from Paris to Frankfurt in the small town of Saarbrucken for two days. We wanted to try traditional food and in our hotel suggested to us the restaurant La Bastille in Old Saarbrücken. We were lucky to get a table on a Friday night without a reservation. We loved this... More

Excellent food, ambience and service. It was 28th December and everyone in Saarbrücken seemed to be looking for a place to eat. We tried several but were all full. We came upon this small restaurant and fortunately there was only one table for two available but unfortunate for the line of people behind us! Enjoyed some excellent food and wine!
