We had visited this brauerei many years ago. My husband found his way there unerringly and was not disappointed. The beer was as good as he remembered. The premises have had a makeover since we were last there but are still typical of a German brauhaus. It was very busy with lots of families eating. I had a schnitzel which... More

We went to the brauhaus watzke to taste some of the dresden beers. The waiters are nice and we ordered food. The food was good, but mine was completely cold. We told them, they said they'd warm it up. They brought it 10 minutes later and it was still completely cold. I tried to find someone to tell them the... More

Wow. Great atmosphere. Ate here with a student group. We had a spacious area all to ourselves. The food was good. I would have liked to have tried other things on the menu though. The staff was very pleasant and they genuinely were happy to receive us. Great view of the river as well.

Great atmosphere, good service, English translations but not touristy - just get the tram out from the alt stadt and it's very easy.

We had a great meal with their homebrewed Watzkebeer: excellent! The restaurant was part of a beautiful old building where they also had a real oldfashioned ballroom.

Went there for lunch. Had some decent salmon and that's quite impressive. They have some self-brewed beer which is quite nice as well.

Special beer had good taste and smell. Not so sweet and bitter. Knuckle was with beer sauce nice, very crispy skin. One loved must appreciate. Atmosphere looked classic and traditional style.

The Watzke family has three restaurants in Dresden, this one is a little off the beaten trail, but in a grand old building. Food is excellent! Very good prices. Well worth making the trek or drive out to - it has plentiful parking across the street.

I simply love this very traditional brauhaus and biergarten. Sitting outside, enjoying views of the river Elbe with the skyline of Dresden is a wonderful thing, especially while enjoying the delicious, fresh beer from a 5 liter barrel. The food is very good too, with excellent haxe on offer. This place really evokes a sense of tradition, community, civilization. Can... More

The Watzke Ball & Brauhaus was really interesting! It has a wonderful view back up the Elbe River and over the skyline of Dresden. The menu is very German (and good) and the beer is authentic and potable!! We enjoyed our lunch there.
