This restaurant was very quiet (we could hear ourselves talk) and the food was really tasty. A small menu of traditional German food. Hearty meal. Service was excellent. Very interesting history.

The food was fairly good and not expensive. They had an English written meal (which is not frequent) and even spoke a bit. Furthermore, they were so very kind to us. They a close to the city centre, so what else could you ask for?

Looking for a ‘local’ food experience. Walk up with no reservation was not a problem. Staff instantly recognised our English and supplied both a table and menu in English in no time. (Really good service) Great menu options with a good selection of wine and...beer. Waiting staff (3 attended to out table over the meal) were all exceptional, helpful and friendly. Food was superb and the atmosphere was busy but not noisy. Loved our experience here and highly recommend.More

Amazing food and incredibly nice staff! My Lammhaxe was one of the best I’ve ever had and our whole family was happy with their food, too. My girlfriend had Gänsebrust and it was great, too. I’ve been there twice now and was very happy with...everything. Very central place, too. I also enjoyed the cozy atmosphere inside even though it is very spacious...all in all - definitely recommended! :-)More

Not impressed at all with the food. We had the traditional pork shoulder and it was salty, fatty and difficult to eat. They call themselves the Hofbrauhouse of Leipzig but other than the large seating area, I don't see the resemblance. Food quality was poor...but our server was very nice. Look elsewhere.More

Good food, very traditional, well cooked and friendly staff. Could not fault the food quality but service was a little slow (no problem when you’re enjoying company of friends and colleagues)

Nice ambience and the food was quite good. However, the waiting staff were impolite, slow and overall came across as apathetic. Would expect much more from a less expensive establishment.

Pleasing venue for dinner just a couple of blocks south and west of Leipzig Markt. Traditional German fare in a fine old building to match. My salmon filet was quite nice, whereas my brother tried the deer filet and found it did not agree with...him. Good service and tasty dessert, 58 Euro total dinner for 2 which also included soup, one beer and one cola.More
