Good restaurant in Leipzig. Good beer. Range of food is very optimal. Good terrace as an alternative to indoor in COVID time

A charming little place in central Leipzig, this gastropub serves Eastern European food with Czech beers. I was here on a business trip with ten colleagues and we enjoyed a meal as well as a few beers. The food was good, I had a Schweinshäxe,...a roasted pork knuckle with crispy skin. The sauerkraut was very good as well, but I didn't understand the steamed bread dumplings that were served with literally everything. I ordered a dark beer expecting to have an intense flavour, but it was disappointing and tasted like a pilsener. After that, I ordered a pilsener which was OK. Pricewise, it's worth the hospitality and the atmosphere, but I'd go elsewhere on a next trip.More

Our visit at the Wenzel Prager Bierstuben has been good. We ate our dishes. The deserts have been a nice surprise and we liked them. Friendly staff and fair prices in the centre of Leibzig. The selection of Czech beer is nice too.

I am coming all 5 years to Leipzig. Always, we are going to that place. We are eating the menue up and down. Enjoy the marvelous Czech Beer and the Pear Schnaps Hrusovice (which is KOSHER!!). Loving the Utopency and the dramatically excellent Hovezi Gulash...and certainly the Svichkova...its a poem. Prior to our visit, I had a conversation wit a Taxi Driver and he was warning me not to go there anymore, but PRAISE THE LORD, we went and my lovely driver was so wrong!! We have a Pani Vrchni there, he is always there, and his service the exorbitant...the best in town. This stay in Leipzig, I went even twice to that restaurant...and I love it, enjoyed it, felt sooooo much home!! So, what can I say? It is a MUST GO!! Enjoy!More

I stayed at the hostel nearby and decide to try this restaurant for dinner. I decide to pick a combo menu with beer and dessert. The service is great even I come by myself. No complaint. The restaurant is not so crowded so I can...enjoy the atmosphere inside the restaurant. The food itself is good. I can't remember the name but for an Asian like me, the beef tasted different from one we had in my home. The beer itself was quiet strong and the dessert is also good. If I have another chance to visit the restaurant, I will to try other menu.More

We (4 adults) went there after an afternoon show to enjoy dinner together. As it was raining outside and my in-laws are already in their 60s we were happy to enter the restaurant at a door signed "Entrance" and were happy to have a seat...at a free table (no reservation sign). After we already sat down, a waiter showed up with other guests and (without any sign of regret or courtesy) declared that we (an elderly couple and us) were to leave the restaurant since we were not "platziert" by him. We insisted that there was no sign to "wait to be seated" and did not quite understand why he was chasing us off. He did not show any sign of politeness but kind of rudely ushered us out into the rain, while he was happy to his young guests (who were likely to consume more alcohol) seated. No apologies. He even got loud to us and was about to push us out through the front door. Luckily, we found a nice other restaurant where we had an utmost enjoyable dinner.More

Dear Orleanda, that almost sounds like a different restaurant and we are truly shocked by this behavior. We can only hope that some things were lost in translation, as this behavior by our waiter is not acceptable and will certainly be discussed, trained and developed....More

I had a dish with pork tenderloin with a savory gravy and sourcraut. The food was very good. Some of my colleagues had a pork shoulder that was delicious also. The location of this resteraunt is near city center and many things to see and...other resteraunts. You can see my other reviews by clicking on the link below.More

The food here was certainly tasty, though perhaps not overly complicated. I got the impression that, for a Czech person, this would be very much "comfort food" - the kind of stuff I could imagine grandmothers serving up for sunday lunch, rather than necessarily posh...restaurant food. Disappointingly, the "Marienka Honigtorte" honeyed pastry I'd been craving since I saw it on the menu, wasnt available that day. Excellent selection of beer, which adds to the Czech feel of the place. The service was friendly, if at times a little slow - especially with my drink order. For me the one key issue with the place is how noisy it becomes once it starts getting even a little full, making conversation very difficult. Ideal for a pub/bar, but not quite what I'd aim for when eating dinner. I'm more likely to go here for a few beers and snacks in future.More

This restaurant was in the same courtyard where our hostel was located. We decided to try it and we were not disappointed. Beers were good as expected and food was tasty. You have the chance to eat in or in the courtyard. Service is fast...and polite.More
