As is to be expected from a restaurant which has earned a Michelin star we had a nice, pleasant dinner! There was, of course, no problem for them to prepare my meal gluten free. Equally obvious is that meals are expensive here, but still not...outrageously so. Two, admittedly rather minor, issues makes me give the rating "four" instead of "five": - Slight lack of attention in filling up or wine glasses when empty (the bottle was behind us). - They couldn't (didn't) make me an irish coffee, as it apparently wasn't in their repertoire (in a similar situation in a small restaurant in Berlin last year they promptly improvised a "scottish coffee"!). If/when we come back to Leipzig we may very well go back for another dinner!More

This is a very special treat - probably one of the best restaurants in Germany and awarded a Michelin one star. It is situated behind the glass facade of the Gewandhaus concert hall. It serves predominantly elegant, modern French cuisine, using top quality ingredients. Petra...Schlegel is the owner/hostess and comes to your table to greet you. The taste is delightful and the food is presented so visually attractively. There are such delights as venison with chestnut purée, scallops with Perigord truffles, warm chocolate cake with lavender ice cream or caramelised tangerines. It is phenomenally expensive at €132 for 6 courses, without drinks. You can combine the dinner with a ticket to the concert hall for €284. It is open Tuesday to Saturday from 6pm until about midnight. Booking is essential. Go on, treat yourself!More

This is a fine dining restaurant in the centre of Leipzig. The food and service were good. Nice touch that there was a choice of two menu's. For a one Michelin star restaurant it's expensive. Worth a visit

We booked this star restaurant not realizing how exorbitantly expensive it is. The fixed price 6-course menu is 132 Euro and that's without the wine pairings for another 78 Euro. One we got over the shock we each ordered a dish a la carte. My...wife and I had the char fish and our colleague had the octopus. All were fantastic. What was delightful is that the staff sensed our shock and dismay regarding the prices and they provided a small appetizer to start, some delicious breads, and finally some bite-size desserts, all on the house. So in the end we were very satisfied with a fantastic gastronomic experience. But be sure to be prepared and BRING YOUR WALLET!More

Just enjoyed a remarkable meal at Stadtpfeiffer. This is a hidden gem. A loving and edgy take on old world classics, served with charm, by an attentive and gracious staff. Outstanding, worth a special trip.

Total surprised. Was in Leipzig for a conference- four of us. We booked this place without knowing it is a Michelin starred restaurant. Certainly I was not dressed for the place. However we were served promptly and efficiently. We chose the four course dinner (2...of us meat dishes, and 2 vegetarian) Totally amazing food and wine. Highly recommended (and I have been to a lot of Michelin Star Restaurants). Nice setting, beautiful presentation, unique food and excellent service. Outstanding. Cannot imagine anyone could produce nicer food. 2 or 3 star restaurant are not better in taste but perhaps more exquisite surroundingMore

Stadtpfeiffe is Is a small restaurant in the Gewandhaus complex where every detail is considered. Our welcome was warm as our coats were taken. We were led to a large table that overlooked the room. Offers of champagne or sekt were quick. We chose a...sekt from the region as we’re not likely to ever see Leipzig sekt anywhere else. Menus appeared along with a few amuse bouches. The menu selection was different. It was broken in to two different menus you could have the entire one or the other six courses or fewer or mix and match between the two menus. The pasta with octopus was different but the octopus was just a but chewy. Otherwise it was brave dish. One outstanding item was the vegetable accompaniment to my venison, it was delicious, a blend of fine mirepoix veg that tasted of more. We chose the accompanying wine flight that was well-chosen and explained and consisted mainly of local wines. We finished off our meal with a pair of delicious schnapps. Our neighbors on the table next to us were finished long before we were. The restaurant reset the table and in came a couple who enjoyed a dozen oysters each with a bottle of sekt between them. There was coffee for the pair and they were gone. Nice to know a restaurant like Stadtpfeiffer has the flexibility to satisfy every request. Well worth a visit if you’re in Leipzig.More

When visiting Leipzig treat yourself to a super friendly gourmet experience. I came here with a small opera group and we had an outstanding meal with all sorts of extras from the young couple who own and run the restaurant. I had all sorts of...food that never occurred to me as gourmet but they were indeed: char, pikeperch, cabbage rhubarb and a variety of amuse bouches. Everything was wonderful except we had venison, which just isn't my taste but everyone else said it was wonderfully prepared. I highly recommend as a special occasion restaurant.More
