We had lunch there on our last day in Málaga. Good service ,ambience and lovely food. The aubergine starter, berenjenas, was delicious as was the bacalao, cod.Suggest you share a desert of 4 delicious items, We did not need to eat again until we were back in the uk!

This establishment appears to be a Malaga classic and staple, and the joint was jumping - locals and tourists alike - the evening we showed up. Courteous waiting staff and lots of them, and a pleasant, fun atmosphere (helped by a group of colourfully-dressed musicians serenading a birthday girl). Food was frankly nothing to write home about: bland "home cooking"... More

I've been to El Pimpi in the main restaurant and outside on a couple of occasions. It was quite expensive and very touristy, but I appreciate it's a Malaga institution. This time instead of sitting down at a table, I tried the bar at the back. If you're looking for El Pimpi food in a very relaxed, authentic environment (and... More

For travelers, one of the charms of Spain is its stubborn adherence to tradition, but a travelers nightmare is the stubborn adherence to traditional business hours and meal times. In most cities and towns it is impossible to eat anything between 16h and 20h weekdays and weekends. El Pimpi is distinctive in recognizing that serving food all day is good... More

We had dinner here on the 1st night of our holiday. Food was a bit of a strange mixture and apparently you arnt allowed to have chips with your croquettes!! I tried to order a portion of chips to accompany mine and was told I couldnt! Could however have them with a sharing platter which included croquettes! Food tasty enough... More

This restaurant is beautiful to see. Tapas are okay but not extraordinary. Nice outdoor space as well as indoor seating.

Way overpriced for the so-so quality food... overly oiled and salted dishes that are by no means special. Location is nice, but it feels more like a tourist factory with line cooks than a nice restaurant. Service was okay.

I was really looking forward to trying El Pimpi for dinner tonight, but it was a bit of a disappointment. The food was marginal at best, and the service was ok...took forever to get a bill! IT as however a very nice atmosphere, and wonderful location.... and the truth is, I havent been smitten by the Spanish food so far...

We waited a bit to be noticed, and the food arrived in shifts, it seemed. But the rosado fish was spectacular, and the salad was fresh and delicious. And, the wine was good and reasonably priced. We liked it enough to go back another night.

I am not one to go to the priciest and most famous restaurants, but my hotel concierge recommended and I decided to try it out. This is a restaurant that has been a landmark for decades. It is a place popular with celebrities and their autographs decorate the wine barrels mounted on the walls. It is colorful and full of... More

This emblematic wine cellar built in an old house from the 18th century is a meeting place for people of all ages. It has welcomed many generations of artists, flamenco dancers or politicians. It is named after formerly popular city figures called 'los pimpis', young people who had helped ship crews or passengers and had become the first city guides.

It is furnished in the style of Malaga, and offers local wines and delicious gastronomy which is very popular in the city. The soul of the restaurant is the lounge with the vintage wine barrels, signed by famous people, such as the family Picasso, the painter Barcelo, the bullfighter Cordobes, The Duchess of Alba, Carmen Thyssen and Antonio Banderas, who show the historical value of this place.

This establisment is in the old town of Malaga, next to the Museum Picasso, La Alcazaba (the Citadel of Malaga) and the Roman Theatre.
