In my opinion no visit to Granada is complete without a visit to Fransisco at La Olivia. La Olivia is not a restaurant and should not be judged as one. It is a chance to meet a wonderful man and, for a couple of hours, share his passion for local produce, Spanish wine and cooking. The meal is a set... More

This is NOT a restaurant and it is so much BETTER this way. We had a great time with Francisco and his team. They prepared over 15 courses of some of the most delicious tapas I've ever had and paired them with 5 different wines. Francisco not only prepared each meal on the spot but also explained it's history in... More

Really a true journey through spanish couisine! Francesco is using very basic spanish ingridients, but with his skill he takes out the full taste. His knowlwdge of mixing some, for us at least, strange tastes, along with traditional receipes is something that each true food lover must try. Also, it can not be unnoticed that Francesco enjoys cooking as much... More

This is not a restaurant in the traditional sense. You feel like Francisco has invited you into his attic study, where he will make you tea and heat some canned soup on his hot plate and camping stove. But what you get instead is the most extraordinary parade of tastes and aromas and interesting stories with the seeming endless dishes... More

This is my second visit to Fransisco, and I sincerely doubt that it will be my last. I love how passionate he is about creating a unique and flavorful experience for each of his guests. We walked away full, educated about Spanish cuisine, and grateful for this experience. La Olivia is not a restaurant, but is is so much more... More

In the evening, Francisco Lillo Roldan transforms his small gourmet shop into a cozy community of diners who gather to sample the excellent olive oils and local wines that he provides as tastings, along with a wide array of tapas freshly prepared (right then, right there) by Francisco and his pair of able assistants. Make reservations (good idea!) if you... More

We dined in a small deli with only 2 other couples - initially at separate tables, but as the evening and conversation flowed the tables were joined. Host, Francisco was knowledgeable and passionate about local food, and seemed to have an encyclopaedic knowledge of spanish food history. Served 15 small tasting dishes and 5 wines. The flavours were beautifully judged,... More

Francisco was extremely friendly and the menu was outstanding. He did a great job explaining the origin of all the food and even made special accommodations for my wife and I who are both vegetarian. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Granada.

Francisco warns you in his confirmation email that he is not a restaurant but what we experienced was so much more! When you go to his shop, he welcomes you as though you are long lost friends. He tempts your palate with tastes from the area and dishes from his youth. The evening begins with tasting three different olive oils... More

Couldn't recommend more highly! If you are into your food / local produce this is the ideal way to dine. Very simple but gorgeous food with Francisco introducing each serving. Nice and boozy too :) I hope to be back! Be sure to book in advance...
