We visited this traditional restaurant for lunch. We shared 4 plates of tapas. It was testament to their experience that they were able to cope with a busy lunch service containing several large family groups and a school party of 50 plus nuns! We choose soup, fried local cheese, sauted vegetables and fillet of pork which came with chips. It... More

Traditional Spanish restaurant which was recommended to me by the owner of La Casa de Vegueta, who suggested that I try the watercress soup and wrinkled potatoes. The food was tasty and filling. The bowl of soup was huge and very delicious. I ordered a selection of tapas wrinkled potatoes, local cheese and a tomato dish, which in typical tapas... More

So two of us took the stew, and the third ordered from the menu. The taste was good, The meat was tender. But so much wattles, fat and bones. The location is great! So be careful what you order!

A good location on the main drag in the (fascinating) Old Town, and the restaurant certainly offers a decent atmosphere. It is old, and an institution, clearly a very loyal local clientele, and a very reasonable lunch menu. Robust food, fairly peremptory service and reasonable prices. You could do a lot worse.

We arrived here a little before the hoards of talcum powder doused participants from the fiesta and were quickly seated. We ordered a handful of typical tapas dishes which we washed down with good cold beer. This is not fine dining but has a lovely busy boisterous feel about it and we were served by a cheerful and efficient waiter.

This was a great find. We had travelled up from Costa Meloneras and the Longchamp sales assistance at El Corte Ingles recommended it to us. A €5 taxi ride to the old town. After an interesting walk around the town, we found a table outside the restaurant. We wanted tapas and a glass of wine. The friendly waiter was extremely... More

We went here for lunch as it seemed one of the most authentic places in Vegueta. We had the local fresh fish with the typical potatoes - 'papas arrugadas'. Very disappointing! The fish wasn't tasty at all (I have had it before), and the potatoes were tasteless. The service was appalling - waiters in a hurry without any regard for... More

I first came to this restaurant 28 years ago, and it has long been a favorite in the Canary Islands. The atmosphere and location are great, and the potaje de veduras and ropa vieja are my favorites. The potaje is served with a traditional serving of bread. It's very similar to what locals eat every day at home for the... More

Fantastic night and great food. Happened to be fiesta night and the town was mobbed with people in fancy dress having a great time. Some of these spilled into the restaurant making it a fun night. Staff very welcoming and priced very reasonable. The food was lovely 👍
