Friendly and helpful staff, but the food is below Spanish standards. 1. Appetizer was some mashed potato with pimenton. Strange.. 2. Croquettas were chewy, soft and without taste. You eat better ones in a truck stop. 3. Steak was great however, for 25 euro.. for...200gr, just some mushroom and 3 asparagus as sides, it's not what it should be. 4. Desert was ok. 5. Coffee a bit clumsy. You saw the staff is doing their best but the food is not backing up their efforts. Won't eat there again.More

Waited for maitre d' to notice us standing there to seat us.When he eventually did, there was no greeting, just a wave of the hand and advised to sit anywhere.( Cafeteria or Parador ?) Service the rest of the time was haphazard and flusterede. At one point...my meal was put in front of me with such speed some ended in my lap! Waited ages for our bill and eventually had to go get it ourselves. There was a coach party there at the same time, which could have caused the service to detiorate, but the restaurant was by no means full. The food was OK,nothing more, and seemed lacking in presentation compared to other paradors we have stayed in.More

This is a hotel restaurant with a reputation for an exceptional good kitchen. We experienced good food, especially the suckling pig, but the service was not up to standards. It was difficult to get the waiters’ attention and not once during the whole meal did...they pour us wine or water. A nice view of the beautiful old Salamanca can not compensate for poor service.More

We stayed for two nights at the Parador and decided to eat at the hotel on the second night. There were four of us and unfortunately I have to say that the meals were not of the standard we expected. The beef sirloin was tough...and tasteless and the vegetable paella lacked vegetables and had no flavour For a hotel that prides itself on it's food, it is not an acceptable standardMore

We were staying in the Parador for two nights and since we were arriving late on the first night we booked a table in their Restaurant. It was so good that we also ate there the second night. It also saves having to walk back...into Town which is a 20 minute walk up and down hill. We were lucky to have a table by the window with a lovely view. Service is very efficient and the food is good. The Croquetas are excellent but everything was well cooked and a good portion size, we couldn't manage a dessert either evening!More

Salamanca is full of great restaurants but one night it rained so we stayed at the hotel and dined in their restaurant, which was very nice. The prices at the Parador are not cheap, but the food was excellent and the service was also quite...good. I was the only one drinking red wine and they had half bottles, which was nice. The dining room has lovely views of the old city of Salamanca, especially at night, when the city is illuminated. We ate at the restaurant twice, once for lunch, as we arrived a bit late in the morning, and once for dinner. I enjoyed the solomillo, twice, and would recommend it, unless you prefer the roast suckling pig (cochinillo), which was also on the menu. As I said above, Salamanca boasts many fine restaurants, but it is nice to know that if you stay at the Parador you can count on an excellent restaurant for those days or nights when you do not feel like leaving the hotel.More

Stayed overnight in the Parador on half board, so visited the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. The restaurant has commanding views of Salamanca and the Cathedral. We had a booking and were allowed to pick a table by the window. Given menus and our orders...taken quickly. The menu indicates items which there are a supplement for half board guests, giving greater choice. After bread, olives and oil we had complimentary melon gazpacho. Our food was excellent and we were pleased with our meal. After our initial good service there appeared to be a lull as the two servers and maitre d' coped with a busier restaurant. Breakfast was a continental style buffet, which should accommodate most tastes, and an omelete station.More

Looked forward to dinner here with a view over the cathedral. Service was not really the best, but, the food was divine! Great starters, suckling pig highly recommended. Nice wine list. We had an enjoyable meal, however, having had some fantastic service on our travels...this palled in comparison. Restaurant is tired, poorly repaired, unloved. Much like the building if you look closely. This place needs some money spent on it, staff need to feel some passion for the food and place where they work. Food is presented well and cooked with pride. Don’t let the Chefs down.More
