I visited Barcelona for my daughter's birthday and took her and some friends to her favorite restaurant, Abissinia. We had a great time with the wonderful staff. We got the meal "unlimited" so we could get refills on everything we liked - which was everything!!! Very reasonable price considering the fabulous food, wine, dessert, and coffee. I know why it's... More

We just been there as a group and we enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. Its tasty like in the direction of Indian food but Morrocan spiced. Quite good flavours. It takes a bit handling to eat with your fingers as sometimes the the food falls off or is hot on your fingers. Would be good to provide a spoon... More

Great food, great vibes. Slightly pricy, but worth it. Eating with your hands makes the whole experience more intimate, relaxed and unpretentious. Lovely decor as well :)

What a finding! You feel like you're in Africa in every single way. You feel it, you see it, and you taste it. Love women owned business. The food is outstanding, the atmosphere is unique

Each time I go to Abissinia, i love it more. Raquel, the owner, greets all her customers with love. Her adorable children move freely about, visiting with the regulars and smiling at everyone. The food is amazing. Each dish has signature spices that blend into awesome flavors. It is perfect for meeting family and friends- but quiet enough for romantic... More

We went here, two adults one child and were seated on beautiful handmade tables and waited on with real hospitality. We ordered the tasting plate as we couldn't decide- everything sounded so tasty. It was wonderfully presented on a large plate and tasted brilliant, perfectly spiced and fresh, eaten using your hands with the traditional Ethiopian pancake. A delight. I... More

Barcelona has tons of great local food restaurants, but even if you are in the city for just a few days, I strongly advise you to eat lunch or dinner at Abissinia. For sure you will go to Parc Guell, so my tip is to take a nice and short walk after you have visited the Gaudi wonders. The ambiance... More

Staying in Gracia

Neighbourhood Profile
Gracia literally stands out from the pack. It used to be an independent town until late into the 19th century. Though it’s just a short commute away from the centre, a visit here feels like you’re in a whole different city. The bohemian vibe has drawn many international artists to this area, resulting in a wide selection of galleries, live music and artsy boutique stores. The nightlife is centered around the vibrant Gracia’s plaças, where young and old gather to enjoy a drink outside. Carrer de Verdi, its main street, offers affordable restaurants and a movie theatre that screens new as well as classic films in their original language. However Gracia's greatest treasure lies just up the hill at Guell Park, where Antoni Gaudi's vibrant and revolutionary art sculptures stand atop unequaled views of Barcelona.
