Went twice to the Maitea Taberna as we were staying close by and liked the reviews on Trip Advisor. The first visit we has Tapas from the menu. The four dishes we ordered were all exceptional and value for money. We liked it do much, we went back again and tried the Pinchos. These were also amazing and excellent value... More

We have been to this bar twice now and have been very impressed. We were given a English menu by Albert and everything was explained on cost and menu choices. We choose hot and cold tapas and we were very pleased with the taste and selection. My favourite was the baked bean dish but all the ones we tried were... More

I tried 8 different dishes and I wasn't disappointed by any of them. I especially liked the baked beans and the chicken strips. Service is a little slow and you have to shout to the waiters to get their attention. Price is fair for most of the items on the menu but the seasonal menu is overpriced.

It is a good basque's restaurant in Eixample district of Barcelona. Excellent "pinchos" in a great variety are distributed along the large bartender"s desk, and you are free to choose everything you want. At the end, the staff count how many wooden sticks are in your plate, and calculate the bill. Each "pincho" costs 1,70 €. Also the have basque... More

Can't miss it when in town. "Pochas" (white beans) with "piparras" (special Northern pepper) are out of this World. Rest of food also remarkable, great ambiance.

Food is absolutely delicious, much variety. I liked all of the "pintxos" I tasted. It is not pricey at all, and atmosphere is good enough. I definitely recommend this place to go out with friends.

Tired from a big day of walking it was such a relief to find a great restaurant so close to our accomodation (they are all mostly down near the beach). Upon arriving we were given a menu in English and told all pinchos are €1.70, the counter pinchos are 'help yourself' and the hot pinchos you order with the waitstaff.... More

Los pinchos were delicious, we tried as many as we could. The place is nicely decorated and the saff was very friendly. The serving is different, because if it's crowded the waiter comes at your table with the plate and you have to choose witch pinchos you wanna try. When I come back to Barcelona I will definitely go to... More

I came here for dinner on a Saturday, and it was great! First of all, venue was packed, and it seemed like a lot of guests were locals - always a good sign. In fact, this venue had been recommended to me by a friend who has been living in Barcelona for 10 years. We had booked for 9pm, but... More

Managed to get a seat at the bar straight away (a night when Barca were playing!) and pretty much worked our way through the menu. Really tasty, made to order, good service... One of the better places of this type in Barcelona.

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
