We made a reservation for lunch and were early. They were very accommodating, and let us come half an hour early. The food was delicious. We would definitely come again.

Genuinely excellent food in an unfussy but pleasant venue. As UK people, we would never find this kind of quality and presentation of really good food in such an unpretentious venue - but this is Barcelona!

We tried Embat for an early lunch and were not disappointed. The restaurant is very simply and casually decorated and the food was fresh and simple, beautifully presented and delicious. We were bowled over by the quality of everything we ordered. The kitchen knows how to handle produce and seafood. We ordered several courses and loved everything. Mains we ordered... More

Grabbed a quick bite on the way to La Sagrada Familia. Typical breakfast specials - cafe con leche, bikini sandwiches (my favorite), muffins, etc. for a few euros.

It's a great hidden gem! It's located away from the main strip and seems to be a local delight. It has a very boutique and cosy ambience.

Perfection ! If we lived in Barcelona we'd be back on an extremely regular basis to enjoy the amazing freshly prepared food. We live in England - a long commute so not viable. Anyone in Barcelona - it's a "must visit" place 😊

Had an excellent meal here whilst staying in Barcelona in April. Very imaginative food and welcoming friendly staff. The restaurant never really filled up on the night we were there (even though it was a Saturday) and there was no music and the lighting was quite bright. The atmosphere could be hugely improved with softer lighting, different table layout and... More

For quite a while Santi Rebes , Chef and owner of "Embat ", was envisioning a change in the interior design of his restaurant.

Santi was looking for a fresh style whose simplicity gives a Nordic bliss to his place and yet keeps it warm and cozy. Mid-2014, Santi decides to carry out his vision and engages Interior Designer Jordi Ginabreda . Jordi is a young designer born in Vall d'En Bas, Girona. He is currently based in Barcelona and he has an outstanding professional career. Jordi has certainly done an excellent job!

Chef Santi Rebes
Santi studied Culinary Arts at Escuela de Hosteleria San Ignasi of Barcelona. Over the years Santi works at two prestigious Dutch restaurants until he is invited to join Chef Cuisine in the well-known Barcelonian restaurant "Cata 1.81". Here Santi develops his flair combining the traditional Catalan cuisine with the acquired international savors. Later, Santi graduates as Master in Pastry at "Escuela de Postres Espaisucre" where he becomes Chef Cuisine of the school's restaurant. In 2007 Santi becomes Chef-owner of his restaurant "Embat".

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
