little cozy place with very friendly staff! little difficult to find table at pick hours but you can also stand with a beer outside! has only five tapas (and some times 4) but are tasty and with very good products ! Tapas and drinks will come to your table like Flash(super heroe) works at this place . Enjoy!!!

Excellent wee place serving traditional tapas. Anchovies were great as was the sausage. Glasses of Vermouth all round - was absolutely delicious. All served outside under balmy skies. Can't wait to come back.

Tapas is the most famous Spanish food word. Bar La Plata knows what it means (unlike other restaurants). It is a small place filled with locals because many tourists do not know about this place. They have about 4-5 tapas in their menu & you can call for any of it without even thinking twice because they ALL ARE AMAZING!... More

Very limited menu, but good tapas. The service is great and the food is on the table asap. You do not feel like a tourist when you go. It is more of a locals spot.

It doesn't get any simpler than this..... About 4 tapas, the best being the 'pescaditos' , tiny fried fish. Eat like a local, meaning eat them whole, head to tail. Not even garnished with lemon, they are superb. Tiny glasses of wine are poured from the cask. Check out the wooden doored fridge.

On a very rare occasion you find a gem, this is one, I would give this place 6 stars. We went on a Segway ride and our tour guide Edgar recommended this place. It's been open since 1945, Pepe the owner has been there over 30 years. The place is tiny, we arrived at 2pm, it closes at 3.30pm and... More

Our Segway tour guide told us about this local hotspot. So simple yet so good! We ordered everything on the menu.(there are only 6 things) and each were delicious. I highly recommend this place!

Only four tapas since 1945, only one memorable (fried anchovies), ideal for a quick lunch far from the standardized tapas flooding Barcelona.

Lovely small tiled bar which serves wine direct from the barrel. Did not try the food - will do next time.

It's a very nice and small (just a couple of tables) bar. It's tapas are very nice and what's better than some beer with fried fish after a long walk in Barcelona?

Thank bijsta

If you are looking for an authentic tapas bar, with the same dishes (anchovies, sausage tomato salad with onions, anchovies and olives and fried sardines) than when it was founded in 1945, where you can enjoy an exceptional wine, do not hesitate. Tourists and lifelong parishioners, anonymous and famous guests (from Ferran Adria taking a break from his techno-emotional cuisine to Daniel Bruhl preparing his next film or Bono, from U2, tuning his voice); all of them looking for a place in one of the six tables of this charming restaurant in the heart of the Gothic Quarter, a reference and an institution of tapas in Barcelona.
