We went to Tapeo by chance as the restaurant we wanted to go across the road was already full. However, we had such a great time. The food was amazing, the service was great, everything was reasonably priced and a great selection of wine. Can't fault it - really worth a visit.

Every time I am in Barcelona, visit to Tapeo bar is a must. They have small menu but everything is a thumbs up! The seafood Fideua is the best in Gothic quarter. The place is very popular with locals. Service is great. The waiters are very knowledgeable and always recommend the best from the menu. Must try if you are... More

Stopped in for a late afternoon bite. Tapas were delicious. Service was friendly. Chill place to hang out, have a drink and eat some great food. Would highly recommend a visit.

Customers sit on stools, with backs, either at the bar or at tables for two. There was a conveniently placed hook under the table for my handbag. For groups of more than two, there is a room with tables out the back. The waiter advised us to order two dishes each, i.e. four dishes. We subsequently added a fifth dish.... More

Great Tapas, nice atmosphere, lovely area and not overly expensive. Couldn't recommend it more if you're looking for a chilled meal and a few drinks.

We had a very interesting tapas lunch at Tapeo during our visit to Barcelona. We had never eaten this style of food before and were eager to try it. We ordered 6 tapas dishes, which were all very good. Tomato & burrata cheese with balsamic vinegar, dressed potatoes with salmon wasabi, and some with octopus, beef which I don't remember... More

My wife and I ate her on our last night in Barcelona. Very popular restaurant so come early or book. The food is a more modern take on Spanish food. Very well presented, very interesting, very tasty. The staff are very polite and knowledgeable. It was a good night out.

Located in the pleasant El Born area there is plenty of choice for tapas bars. But this tapas bar in a contemporary setting is really worthwile! Do try the aubergines with honey and lime and the black pasta with cuttlefish ink. sooo delicious! Good winelist! Prices vary between 6 and 19 eur. But worth it. You can sit along the... More

Absolutely fabulous tapas bar. The food created by Daniel rueda and his staff is just wonderful. We have dined here many many times and it has always been a delight. Food and service and staff excellent. You will not regret spending time here and having some of the best tapas available in Barcelona.

Knowledge about gluten free options, but many options are not gluten free. Suggest calling for reservations. Smaller tables are in the main area-- a little crowded/loud. Food is very good.

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighbourhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
