Good location close to the beach and we enjoyed sitting in the sun. The most expensive tomato bread we ate during our visit. Beer and wine ok, but fairly expensive. Service a bit manyana and it wasn't busy. We were trying to find the Playa Bar, but it was closed.

Food quality is low. The service is really bad. Waiters not interested in customers but more having fun each others. This place could survive only thanks to his good position.

Great to sit in the sunshine while facing the beach and the people, if it wasn't for the need for humans to have to consume "food" in the morning from such a place as this. The breakfast options are minimal so I ordered the sandwich which was three layers of cheap white bread with green tomato, soggy lettuce and some... More

Well, it´s not on the waterfront, but almost. You have a glimpse of the Barceloneta beach, the marine ambiente, without paying the prizes of the waterfront restaurants. Great pizza and appetizers. Great location, good foot, acceptable service. The tap beer is somewhat expensive here though!

Excellent spot by the beach. Good pastries for breakfast and ham/cheese panninis for lunch. Friendly service.

This is a very local tapas bar. It also offers some larger portion dishes. The service can be a bit rough for the tourist. We were sitting in a table and were ignored for some time. We decided to sit at the bar and were attended immediately. The place was recommend for paella, but as is often the case in... More

...just an average bar at the beach. I would have ranked it higher, but the staff was not very motivated. I actually waited for my change after the payment longer than it took me to drink a beer. But if you pass by you can definitely have a drink here...

Came here for lunch and it was so nice and beautifully located right on the beach front. Had a litre of Sangria and Nachos with Guacamole. The food and service was really lovely I cannot fault it! A little bit pricy compared to most places. Sangria was 16 Euros and Nachos were 8 Euros but still affordable!

Location is all for this relaxed bar at the beach at Barceloneta. Easy-going gyus at the bar, classic no-nonsense dishes, and the location that beats everything. A cool place to hang out during the day, and most likely at the evening, too,

Had lunch a couple of times during our week long visit to Barcaleno. Went back because the pizza was excellent and the service was really good. Well looked after, good food, very relaxing.

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighbourhood Profile
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
