We came across a couple of Rekons during our trip and absolutely loved it. They always went out of their way to seat us outside and were very prompt with the drinks. The tapas are delicious, we went with a large group of 12 and ordered around 7/8 dishes which was plenty. The potatas bravas and potatas with four cheeses... More

So good! Went there twice to eat the yummy empanadas. The salads looked delicious but we didn't have enough space in our tummy to eat it. Definitely recommend!

After sleeping in one Sunday morning we went to Rekons to grab some breakfast. The empanadas was really good, the staff were really nice and effective. But the best part was the atmosphere! We got the feeling that this was a family restaurant/cafe. I can really recommend dropping in for a snack (despite the outdated interior, which actually gave it... More

Service awesome- food ok. I had the potatoes with 4 cheese, not hot throughout , warm with some melted cheese, Chorizo sandwich was Good, plenty of meat on a crusty bun, husband had a omelet but was served on a crusty roll, it was filling but no comment from Hubby.

This place was just around the corner from where we stayed and was always packed so we had to try it, and am glad we did. There are many empanadas to choose from and from what we had they seem amazing. Everything is well priced and the place seems very local.

This is a warmful bar which offers excelent empanadas! And if you are still hungry ask for the good deserts. The prices are also very good. The only thing is that sometimes you need to be a little bit patient with the waiters as sometimes they are a lit bit slow due to the amoumt of people.

We had a late breakfast/lunch here and can't wait to go back to try every empanada. We ordered the salad with the 2 empanadas which is a generous portion of lots of little things. The tomato with eggplant and roasted mushroom on top was beautiful and delicious, the ricotta cheese, walnut, granny smith apple and honey was delightful. I love... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
