We are in Barcelona doing airbnb. We asked the lady of the house the best place to eat locally an she advised Cafe De L'academia. It isn't cheap but the quality makes it good value.

Located amongst the narrow streets this gem of a restaurant offers great food. The ambiance is really cool as it feels like you are dining in a space from another time. The restaurant offers a number of delicious options, including great desserts and is reasonably priced.

This was our last night in Barcelona and we were looking for something special. This restaurant did not disappoint us. The staff were very helpful, professional and efficient. The service was exemplary and the food delicious beyond words. I had rack of lamb which was tender with a splendid sauce. A superb evening to finish off our holiday. I recommend... More

Good atmosphere, extensive menu choice, best lamb I've had for a long time. Situated in an old building has a charming atmosphere, accompanied by excellent friendly service, we were tempted back for another meal on our last night, and were not disappointed

Lovely setting with lots of atmosphere. Extensive wine list but the wines were dearer than most in Barcelona (an average bottle of tempranillo was eur 40) Food was lovely and nicely presented; however, if you wanted any veg it was a side dish and cost extra - given the cost of the main courses I would have expected some veg... Came here for lunch while visiting the El Born district. Ate outside in the very pretty courtyard and enjoyed delicious wine, tapas, olives, bread everything fresh and wonderful tasting. Hard to find - but worth it!

We read some of the reviews for this restaurant and booked at lunchtime for an 8.30 pm table. Beautiful setting, dimly lit but classy, superb menu and attentive, polite if direct service. Starters of cod omelette with peppers and timbale of vegetables with black pudding and crispy Parmesan - great start! Both starters were very good, and sensibly priced. Main... More

Arrived around 9:30 without reservation and were asked to wait outside for around 15 mins for a table, which we were happy to do since we heard it was a popular spot. The ambience of the place was wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed the wine. However, waiters seemed incredibly impatient and a little rushed which put us off a bit.... More

This is one of the most enjoyable and memorable meals of my life. There were so many dishes that we wanted to try so my boyfriend and I shared each dish and ordered half dishes when available. All the dishes were phenomenal but our favorites were the eggplant terrine, risotto with duck liver and grapes, rack of lamb with a... More
